You kinda went over it a little bit with tenma but my favorite part in the match is when hinata accepts his role on being the greatest decoy. Huge character growth, almost made me tear up.

Mangas are so absurd. They're such beautiful pieces of literature, it's so insane. If you were to tell someone that you cried after reading about a volleyball match, they'd look at you crazy. But the breakdown of Hinata was so heartbreaking I couldn't help but shed insane amounts of tears. All the little details are heart-wrenching. Takeda talking to Hinata, not letting him play, but giving him one of the best monologues in the series imo. It's so tough, bitter, and you can feel how hard it is to swallow, as you sympathize with Hinata. Just the pure shock you experience reading the fact that Hinata was steaming hot ever since Inarizaki. When Kageyama said that he won, it didn't feel like their usual rivalry. There was just something about how well he understood what was wrong with Hinata at that point. Hinata tearing up while apologizing got me so hard. But, in my biased, whole-hearted opinion, the saddest part was when Kenma gave Hinata his tablet to watch the match. There was just something about their friendship that was so touching. Kenma giving Hinata his "biggest" tablet to Hinata because he understood his situation is something beautiful.
kenma giving hinata his most beloved and important thing to him made me shocked. and btw, me seeing hinata reinforcing the concept and title of the greatest decoy was FIRE, i was proud every single time he received the ball, as nekomata said, u cant improve receiving overnight. just proves how much he improved over time.
The point Hinata stops chasing to be a little giant and instead solidifies himself as the greatest decoy was one of the most important pieces of character development for him
You almost made me cry!! This match made me so sad in so many ways - but good ways. I was upset that Karasuno lost, but the way the story developed after that was really good; I could see why Furudate wrote it the way he did. I think the most important part of this arc is that EVERYONE we had been following LOST. As far as I know, some unknown team won and we never find out who! What you said at the end of the video (“what will you become tomorrow?”) is the most important theme, not who wins nationals. The more I think about that, the more I like it and the more I love Furudate for bringing us this version of Haikyuu!! When this segment gets animated I cannot wait to emphasize this to the world. (But for now, I’ll just do it here.)
We are actually shown later on that Fukurodani lose to a team named Ichibayashi in the final. We are never shown anything about their team or their players though, it’s not even the same team that beat Itachiyama.
My favorite part is the lesson that talent and enthusiasm are meaningless if you dont take care of your body. Also how the teacher telling hinata that he has to be prepared because he won't be given unlimited chances echos the captain when the third years started saying you have to grab the chances ehen thry present themselves
Just the fact that anyone can say "manga and anime are just cartoons" baffles me. I can count on my hand the number of times I've cried or been moved by western media, but I can't even think about the number of times I've been moved by manga and anime. Beautiful video.
As someone who doesnt have even the slightest interest in games, this anime had me absolutely HOOKED. It's insane how they make a seemingly 'simple' sport like volleyball, something that always felt like a casual beach game to me, so intriguing. the way each match, each play, and everything else is broken down is some next level storytelling. I never wouldve thought this when i watched the anime years ago, but till date, this is my favourite anime of all time.
Thank you for touching on washijo’s monologue. It’s one of the best moments of the match and all of haikyu in general, but I still find it rarely mentioned or just an afterthought
Everything you said in this video is exactly how I feel about this match. It’s the stuff that’s going on off the court that really really it in for me that makes it my favorite match. You notice how much hinata has affected others which really does forshadow the last chapter and what happens. The coaches monologue, honestly all of them during the entire manga, were breathtaking .
This all just makes me want to see it *all* animated one day. It would be great. My only hope is that the movies make enough to get the Mugen Train treatment of actually getting expanded in a season of anime which then allows us to get a proper adaptation including stuff like Fukurodani vs Mujinazaka and the timeskip
Great video for a truly special match. What a bold maneuver for the story to take, I'm still in awe. The journey Hinata goes on as a character and the life lessons he learns is profound
Perhaps my favorite moment in this match was when Hinata met Tenma Udai, the original Small Giant. He finds out that Udai didn't go pro, and he's not mad. Hinata was inspired by him to play, yet meeting him made him realize what he actually wanted to be on the Volleyball court.

I would say start reading at chapter 292 to experience this match in the manga and get all the flavor that was cut out of the movie. The Nekoma match does end around chapter 325. Enjoy peak Haikyuu!! with the Kamomedai match!
What's more amazing is the fact that Furudate hinted towards this ending with panels that involved Hinata and food and him ignoring it throughout the whole tournament.
I prefer the match vs Inarizaki even if i really love certains aspects of this one ive seen too many red flag at the beginning for making me feel karasuno have a chance.
This is all spoiled for me bc i havent read the manga. When i saw hinata crying bc he had to go off the court i didnt feel that bad, bc i knew he still had 2 years and was going to keep playing either way. But when i saw daichi just laying on the ground in despair that shit hit me up

I'm hoping the second movie is just this match as I'm not sure how they'll do justice to what is the best match in the entire series
Just for any simpletons out there. Blue Lock's Japan U-20 match is a joke compared to even season 2 of Haikyuu's finale. Like yeah were gonna compare porbably one of the greatest underdog stories in sports storytelling HISTORY to a bunch of underwritten super geniuses with basically superpowers. Like OOOOKAY HAHAHA
Ippo Vs Sendo
I wish this match was a season, knowing they'll probably cut A LOT of scenes, just like with nekoma match😭😭
I would not have been disappointed or sad if Kamomedai was the finale before a short epilogue. That's how good the match's ending was written.
This like when rukawa learn to trust his teammate and pass the goddamn ball
Watching the movie and knowing the context behind the pass is full body chill
@@frencerenniermendoza5047 his character development is insane..he learn that theres someone better than him that he needs his teammate to rely on.
Good points, but check out the final game from slam dunk manga, I would personally choose that one as the greatest in sports anime/manga
He hasn't even touched on the actual final game of the series bruh. This is the second last game.
This was great
Glad you enjoyed it!!
I cried 🥲🥲
Same
I love the manga so much Haikyuu is in my top 5 but I wish this match happens in the finals either that or semis I rlly wanted to see karasuno vs fukuradani
Yeah Fukurodani vs Karasuno would have been awesome for sure
Where Should i start reading manga after the movie?
I would say start reading at chapter 292 to experience this match in the manga and get all the flavor that was cut out of the movie. The Nekoma match does end around chapter 325. Enjoy peak Haikyuu!! with the Kamomedai match!
Holy shit what am I doingggg the movie comes out soon😭😭😭😭
What's more amazing is the fact that Furudate hinted towards this ending with panels that involved Hinata and food and him ignoring it throughout the whole tournament.
I prefer the match vs Inarizaki even if i really love certains aspects of this one ive seen too many red flag at the beginning for making me feel karasuno have a chance.
The Inarizaki match is incredible as well!
This is all spoiled for me bc i havent read the manga. When i saw hinata crying bc he had to go off the court i didnt feel that bad, bc i knew he still had 2 years and was going to keep playing either way. But when i saw daichi just laying on the ground in despair that shit hit me up
The manga is so good I hope you read it after watching the vid
Bot greatest now cuz of bastard munchen vs PXG from blue lock that match is just pure perfection up until now
my favorite sports match will always be blue lock vs japan but yeah haikyu was fire
Just keep going.
Bro, it's not that he didn't eat enough-he had a fever from not taking care of himself. I haven't read this chapter in years, and I know this.
I must disagree, Shohoku vs Sannoh in The First Slam Dunk is spokon peak anime level. Haikyuu!! si a really wonderful manga/anime btw, nice video man!
Slam Dunk is peak for sure, even if I slightly prefer Haikyuu!!
I just wish the newer seasons were animated better.
I do feel like the production of the second half of season four was hit pretty badly by the pandemic. Also a bummer that these movies are going to have great animation but be so rushed
@@aniessays It's also a shame about the art style change, some people like it but it's not my cup of tea
First of all they are still stunning plus the animation is adapting the manga's artstyle change. Second, pandemic. The last two seasons are actually one season that was cut in half because of COVID.
@@DuelistRL Sure? The animation of the later seasons is clunky and inconsistent, it lessens the impact of a lot of cool moments. That's not mentioning the editing or directing either. Kinda inevitable due to a personnel and studio chang.
hey bro, a simple de-esser would make your S sounds a lot less harsh. It would be appreciated greatly since I like your videos!
I'm crying... that must be hurt to Hinata.
what really hurts the most is how Hinanta wasn't able to be a part of what would become Karasuno's last meal together as a team
Waaaaait was the follow up of season 4 animated?!!! I wasn’t in a cave though how did I miss that 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I dont know how the anime is supposed to do this arc justice
blue lock u20 match is also a strong contender tbh. i enjoyed the nekoma game more just cuz of the build up rivalry between the two teams but W analysis
Appreciate it! And the Nekoma match is a close second for me!

I wish there were a haikyuu arc that on second year on high school Hinata has another chance if winning on the national but I guess never happend😅😅😅
I love haikyuu but there’s about 10 ippo fights that clear this
Shoyo was growing too much and too fast that God had to nerf him by giving him a cold lmao
u20 vs blue lock slams ngl
My brain literally melts when you say date tech like they're mascot is a dried fruit. Please just say dateh from now on
Peco vs Kazama is greatest sports match
0:09 Blue lock 11 vs Japan u20
Am I the only one who is upset that they didn't end up winning?
Like Slam Dunk, it made sense. We lose in real life all the time, and there's still a huge room for improvement for the first years. If anything, what made me sad was that they never won nationals even in their third and last year 😟
@@schopenheimer.I mean, some teams never even made it to nationals (*cough* seijoh)
I have to comment on this, the greatest match in sports history is Arguably Takamura and Hawk. This comes as a close second.
A match that will be skipped ENTIRELY
Which season bro and which episode number
Not animated yet
Had to close the video after I heard you pronounce Karasuno.
Which chapter?
