I hope people appreciate your expert horsemanship! Thank you!! You have taught me in the last 2 years how to have a horse that is a pleasure to be with. My horse was wild, and started as a 7 year old. Your training DVDs have helped me establish a good relationship with my horse. He used to buck, bolt, rear and spin. Now I am able to trail ride even in traffic and he isn't locking up his hind end. What I want to say is THANK YOU!!

This video has taught me a lot, I have bought a young horse and he freezes a lot, everyone says "wow he is so calm" and are surprised when I tell them he is stressed. I got on him for the first time after getting him home, after two weeks of only groundwork. The hardest part is backing him up, then his feet melt into the ground, but I decided to ride anyhow since I rode him befpre without any problem.
He was very still when I got on, I saw there was some tension in the neck but I just thought "thats to be expected everything is new" I sat a while, got off, got on, wanted to give him release like that to say, "we dont have to go anywhere buddy" he was a bit tight still but I thought I will just walk over here slow, move his legs a bit and he will relax. As soon as I turned his head to move he ran off like wild and into a corner with outdoor rabbit cages, needless to say I flew off since there was not enough room to maneuver him at all. I am going to keep moving his legs like that, I have done it on the ground, but I see by what you are saying that I need to wait for flow and get that tension away.
    Thanks!

Do you have any videos on your channel regarding how to get your elderly horse back in shape after being off for a few months? Assuming the horse is approved for carrying a rider again...Bless you, the Spirit of Excellence is all over your approach and your videos...thank you

He says the horse is „locked up“ about 50.000. Maybe everyone else in the world knows what that means (in a horse) but I don‘t. He could have explained it once.

He just means the horse is tense, tight and frozen. Its like how when you're scared the 3 reactions are fight, flight or freeze. Horses who are scared will by nature choose flight, but if they feel trapped (prevented from running away by a halter and lead, or by a rider), they will either freeze or fight. He is working on teaching the horse it doesn't have to freeze, it can move freely and this helps the horse relax

What about a horse half Clydesdale quarter horse who doesn't give a poop about the flag and just planets his feet and will not move around me I even put my arm up for him to bump into it as he tried cutting me off and he's like moving a concrete slab, when I increased the pressure virging on to much he lunge at me for a bite. He backs up ok with the lead rope wiggling he's ok there.

Try attaching a white plastic bag to the crop. Worked for my Belgium.

I thought Carson James had better feel and timing than that. Disappointed.
