You can create a cut in the original clip once the 3 or frames of the effect are finished, and remove the effect layer and the replica effect. Then the lose of quality is only on three or 4 (or 5) frames where it's blurred anyway @@aransharma4997

Adjustment layer didn't work for me. Maybe because I was trying to apply it to a photo. I applied transform directly to the photo and used blur out to get the motion blur effect. Got a decent result I guess. Is there a more efficient way to do this?

my replicate effect gives me a black boarder around each video anyway to fix this?
i had that problem and found the solution: nest the clip before you apply the effect
