Excellent idea! Might I also recommend trying a US Marine Corp ripstop poncho. You can make various shaped shelters with (my favorite is a plow shape), but, you can also make an elevated camp cot with one too!
That is great idea sir, I suppose you could mod it permanently by stitching some extra canvas hoops at the ends and use the straps to attach to the trees. Love the camera work in your vids cheers mate.
Det där var ju ett genidrag, det lär jag prova till vårkanten, helt klart! precis beställt en lavvu från rödastjärnan..hoppas den är i bra skick. Go fortsättning o gott nytt år🎅👍
Tackar.
too much LOL. BUT... this sturdy piece of canvas is ten times stronger and not likely to rip if compared to a modern hammock. So if you know what you are doing when you tie it you are safe. But you have to watch out for that ventilation hole in the poncho for the arms...dont put your elbow down that one, or some body part that presses down with all your weight when you get in or out. It will not rip entirely but you can damage it in the seem where the button is.
Damn! haha, I have some GREAT ADVICE for any budding new youtubers in the world of Bushcraft / Wild Camping / Outdoors etc. If you think of a good idea .. *DONT SLEEP ON IT! Get it filmed, edited and online in a flash ... Before Swed Does It!! ;)*
This was just a 4 dollar saw from Biltema here in Sweden. My Laplander is what I usually bring but after 4 years in the woods its pretty dull so this Biltema saw was just a temporary replacement. Its very thin but bite good and is very small in your pocket. If youre not careful the tip will bend when dealing with firewood. It saws on the pull stroke. My plan is to use this little saw for detailed work in woodcraft later on when I get the replacement blade for my Bahco Laplander.
Tack. Jag vet faktiskt inte då den saknar märkning. samlar på gamla externramssäckar och tycker den är rätt lik ett par Haglöfs Skraja modeller jag har.
The guys more than capable of making a few tent stakes. Sometimes you choose to use what makes life easier sometimes you don't. How many fishing reels do you carve every time you go fishing?
Very good interpretation of bushcraft as a art of living
Thanks!
I have few of those "poncho/tent" for years now, but have never thought on using as hammock. TNX for great idea :)
good luck!
I'm definitely going to have to try this.
Well done sir
thanks!
Awesome idea, the benefits of ownership just get better and better.
Thanks!
I was thinking about a canvas hammock, but I was afraid of using lavvu. Thanks for the movie!
You are welcome, thanks!

awesome thanks for the tip!
Awesome video and use of the lavvu. I have one and love mine. Going to try the hammock idea soon!
Thanks! Stay clear of the arm holes when you lie in it
I love my lavvu even more now!
👍👍
How come i didn't think of that....Brilliant!!
A true beauty! Well done. Atb, Tim
Thanks!

Thanks. Yeah I'm saving up for one big lavvu mod later this year. Maybe I put the loops in there. Thanks for the idea.

Ska nog själv köpa några extra på direkten! God jul!
@@Swedwoods Låter som en bra idé, verkar vara populära, kan aldrig ha för många 👍 Tack detsamma.
At 6:40 its sounds like the video is about to turn into a horror movie
yes, I have thought the same ahah
Precis hittat dina filmer. Härlig skogs och naturkänsla i fint samspel. Mvh L-G
Tackar!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Haha! First time I see this. 😀
Art of tying knots! What's with a twitch when you were lying in the end?😁
Have no idea my friend...So long time ago..will check it later when I have time!
I saw that too. Looked like he was checking how much the set up could take.
really helpful for me. What backpack are you using?
Kewl!
How much do you weigh? Could make for quite a drop should the canvas give way ;-)

Your Laplander saw looks great! I will need a new one soon, what is the make/ model?

Awesome thanks! My current saw is a Bahco, I may just replace it whenever it gives in, but your Biltema seemed to cut like a hot knife through butter!
Riktigt snitsigt! Vad är det för ryggsäck du använder?

A frienly advice: in a spruce/pine forest, you don't need to use tent nails.
Check it out in this video, at min 5:50😉

I don't think I will make Valhalla, so as we have discussed, book me a place by your lake and river. :-)
U got it. I know which one you like!
