It's pretty cool to see my Uncle Pete in his wheelhouse. He was an amazing musician and person. Pretty cool to read comments on here who loved his work too. We miss him terribly, but it's cool to come see him on UA-cam.

Every one of RT's backup musicians is someone I would pay to see by himself. Pete was no exception.

I used to see Pete in Arizona Smoke Review and RT's band then when he came up on the train from London to my Oxfordshire village to record periodically and down the local pub, plus at the bar at Cropredy festivals, which he seemed to prefer to backstage. A great all round musician. It was a terrible loss for him to leave. Peace! John

@@ParcelOfRogue I was a kid when Pete and my Uncle Bill were in the Smoke Review. I've loved hearing the stories over the years.

Pete Zorn. A fantastic musician and a true gentleman. It has been a pleasure to have worked with you on a few occasions. You will be sorely missed. x

Saw this lineup live and it was one of the Best concerts I have ever been to. Pete Zorn was an amazing multi instrumentalist and always made whoever he played with sound so much better. Glad to have met him and thanked him for his contribution to music.

This is the best version I've ever heard of this song!
Can't stop listening, I must be the biggest 16 year old fan of Thompson!

The Strawberry Music Festival, evening, beautiful outdoors Camp Mather near Yosemite, full "house", Richard played this at the end, blew the sky off the joint, had everyone instantly singing the refrain in harmony, he finished with us still singing..and we never stopped as we all went back to our campsites....legendary!!! You can still hear us singing there...

Seeing Richard, Danny and Michael play this from 5 feet away at Shank Hall in Milwaukee is the highlight of my concert-going life.

Great performance but also great camera work! There's also an amazingly fun version of this song with Thompson and Cajun dynamo Jo-el Sonnier on UA-cam.

see...this is the kind of stuff some people don't get today....it's crude...it's raw...it's when music was music. not the synth garbage we hear today. definitely not polished but most certainly some of the best we'll ever hear NOT being played on the radio. BRILLIANT!

Loved that Michael Breckerish squeal the alto player wrung out. Another version of this has an alto and a cajun air compressor trading eights. Crazy good, but then RT and his bands always are.

Gosh no, it's the maestro's son, Teddy on guitar with Pete Zorn on sax, Danny Thompson on bass and Michael Jerome on drums.
(I'm sure Simon would be delighted that you think he'd look so young!)

Firt time I have seen Thompson playing anything other than the strat...what guitar is he using, does anyone know? . He's arguably the finest rock'n'roll guitarist the UK has ever produced. Nice to see him "winging it" like this, even at his advanced age his guitar breaks always have a dangerous quality to them. Its not often you see people stil willing to take a chance on stage like this. Nice to see the Great Danny Thompson on bass,,too.

RT performances now are heavily weighted toward solo acoustic or Electric Trio, so "Tear-Stained Letter" has become somewhat of a rarity.
