For the military dudes, I took position across the bridge from them, so they can't easily flank me, and managed to clear it out after a few tries (I only had an AK, that's why it was difficult)

Im voluntary soft locked on raiding the CNPP because Im playing Ironman. I lost all but 3 of my lives and now Im just grinding "being alive" in the Outskirts to work my courage and ammo back up. Not recommended, theres too much content here to play on hard mode
