Julie went from tent to tent to do each interview that had cameras set up by each host, so many similar interviews were done that day at the press junket. " - T.W. Such a dramatic departure from the many more 'wholesome' characters Ms Andrews had played until then. It really was brave of her to risk the public adoration she had enioyed to that point.

I gather some of it was a rebellion against just that: she _had_ made other movies, but she was mainly thought of as Poppins/Maria, and was a bit tired of being considered only capable thereof, with her other films little known. How much of the rebellion was her, and how much Blake, I leave to you to decide.)
