Had this happen to me today, AAA towed me home. Hyundai dealer wants $335 for the fuse. Amazon $65 for the exact same part. it can sit parked for a few days over 270 bucks.
Thanks for the info boss, mine shut down on the free way said “check charging system” and from there it wouldn’t turn on. Waiting for a response from the mechanic
@@Mustardgas710 so for mine it ended up being a faulty safety plug. A 300 dollar fix. My car is now running great only took 2 days to fix. Good luck hopefully your in the same situation or else you might need a new battery
Had this happen to me yesterday. Pushed the car to a parking area and found out the fuse inside the trunk(at the end of this video you’ll see the orange piece inside trunk) it was a 125amp fuse. I bought a 150amp fuse and put it back in and now working fine! Car came back on running fine. Piece cost me $62 from Kia dealership.
@@montellewissr5955 all I did was unclip the orange fuse peice (battery safety plug) that's in the trunk and took it to Kia dealership. They just replaced the 125amp fuse that is inside the safety plug for a 150amp fuse.
@@xxstract28 nope the fuse fixed it. Also an update on the car I had 5 open recalls on the car and a peice in the motor went out and completely stopped the car from running. Got it towed to Kia dealership ran some diagnostics and recall part failed. Ended up getting a new engine for the car completely free due to open recalls. If you have a Kia optima check for recalls on the specific year.
I have a 2015 Kia Optima hybrid gas engine 2.4l since I got it I been taking it to the Kia dealer 4 times because it just stalls on me when HEV MCU AND HCU COME ON THE DASH
The hybrid battery link is just a piece of wire that acts as a fuse in the event of an over current. next time get a 12 gauge wire and some spades and jumper that thing lol
Mine said check charging system. It tried to stall on me right 2 blocks from home. My lights still light up. Should I have it towed to dealership or try to drive it there? 😩
literally sitting on the side of the road as I'm watching this. just happened to me.
A. Woods me too. 8/27/2019🤦🏽♀️😔

@@tkendrick1 yes, they said it was my battery and fuse on the hybrid.

Of the fuse?
Do you know the name of the fuse?
Well in my case I had to replace the whole hybrid unit. I was quoted 11k from the Kia dealership.
That fuse is only 100$ thay ripped you off to make you pay so much to fix it
