One thing I've learned if you play this game, you better LOVE "this is Halloween" to death because it plays during every fight with basic enemies
The only times it won’t play will be when you go to the residential area starting in chapter 13, and when you go to Christmas town.

The game takes place after the events of the movie so it only makes sense that he wants to improve his own holiday instead of taking over a different one.

The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Pumpkin King for GBA was a prequel to the movie, Zero's Journey was a manga series that was an immediate sequel focusing on Zero the ghost dog, There is a novel in the works which aims to be a sequel with Sally as the main character, and this game was a direct sequel to the film as well. There was also the inclusion of the Kingdom Hearts timeline, which on a technicality is also a sequel to the film. EDIT: There was also Mirror Moon, which was another manga sequel but with Jack as the main character again, and the name for the novel is called "Long Live the Pumpkin Queen". I also realize I forgot to mention that the premise for The Nightmare Before Christmas came from a children's poem parody of The Night Before Christmas that Tim Burton wrote and illustrated himself (surprisingly, not that many people know that so I feel it is worth mentioning).

Uh, in our nightmares (no pun intended). Unlike Jack, Sally can barely defend herself, as seen when she is trying to rescue Sandy in the movie.
She did get a new book so hopefully if they make a new game or remaster or remake this one she can be playable

@@roleemack1535 There is no explanation in that game, since in that story kidnapping Sally was an accident. Lock, Shock, and Barrel thought they were kidnapping Jack but grabbed Sally instead because "they looked the same in the dark"

In this game, Jack wanted to improve Halloween's tricks and treats, because what harm is there in a little improvement? Oogie Boogie should've stayed out of it, for safety's sake! Heck, Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios is always looking to safely improve the scare factor intensity, too! I'm saying that the need for improvement is understandable!
