- 13km into the backcountry of Algonquin Park, I set up my tripod and camera along the shores of Head Lake around midnight and let the camera capture the amazing dark skies. The total length of the timelapse was approx. 4 hours. Head Lake is a part of the Highlands backpacking trail.
It’s my goal to see this one day!
Make it happen!
Good Stuff!
Thank you!
Ive been searching for this for years now. Im on the east coast so cherry springs in p.a. and algonquin ate the closest dark sky spots i can find. But its a time commitment for me. 2 questions, can you see it like this with the colors witht he naked eye, or only through video? And if you can see it with the naked eye what time of day? Because everytime i have tried at sunset i just end up waiting for the the dark regulat stars to come. Please and thank you. Sorry for the long message in your comments
It won't look like this to the naked eye. Only a camera can capture enough light/data to make it look like this. You can see a faint outline during dark skies (whenever there is a new moon). Best time of year is typically May-Sept in North America. :)
Can you see the milk way with the naked eye?
Music used in background?
Sorry not positive. Lost the song.
@@Reidzandbelt no problem. Great scenes nonetheless. 🙏🙏🙏
