I think I blame most of the hard floor pickup issues on that stupidly fast side brush. Looking back at the video of the first run, it seems to pick up relatively okay, but not great. However, once it moves on, debris gets scattered over to a place it's already cleaned, and the robot doesn't go back as it's already cleaned there. I dunno why iRobot refuses to slow down that side brush.
Thank you for your dedicated hard work! Enjoying every video! I still can't decide between 2 robots. I managed to find the same price ($400-$420) Roomba i6+(used) and Roborock s5 max (like new) ($400-$420 respectively) and can't decide what to get. I have mostly carpets at 80 sq.m. apartment, linoleum and tiles in kitchen and bathroom, also a cat and a 8 y.o. kid and one 40 y.o. one as a hubby)). I was so determined to buy a Roborock S5, and after having bought one, will be returning it as it super buggy, it runs good the first time (plural as I factory restored it), but every next time it draws new unrealistic map, or pursuing one zone like 3 times and doesn't go to others etc. So now having heard that Roborock's support is not great, I'm afraid to buy from them although I like the idea of mopping, but self-empting bin sounds also kind of fun as for Roomba. Few years ago we had iClebo for just a year as it died and to repair it was a cost of a new one, so we never saw that $600 again. So I don't plan to have a new robot every year. So my questions are: 1. which one would you pick out of Roomba i6+ and RR S5 max? How long do you think they realistically will last considering using them almost every or every other day? 2. And what is the best value overall (considering both are $400)? Thank you so much in advance!!!
Lol I just found out my shark upright vacuum isn't good for picking paper from the shedded so I ran my roborock s6 maxv and it had no problem with paper shredder
Nice video, might I suggest next test to be with either 1 run (2pass) or 2 runs with the 2 pass setting. I feel the cross cross pattern helps alleviate a lot of the scattered debris
Roomba 980/981/985 review next if you get one? 981 is same as 980 however in the UK the 981 is blue in UK While in the US the 981 is the same color as the 985/980.
What would you say is the best one you have tried? I bought an ihome on Black Friday and took it back because it wouldn’t even vacuum the center of the floor. I bought the roomba i1 this week snd when I tried it last night it had difficulty going up into the carpet from the linoleum floor so that was disappointing. So I’m thinking about taking it back and getting a better one. Do you think roomba or shark is better because I heard you mention that you like the shark. Thank you!
I do not recommend shark....the new ai is decent but there is better for sure. If you can afford it the Roomba J7 S9 and roborock s7 are some of the best.
@@AdamsReviews I’ve been watching a lot of your videos but don’t see any about the roomba i1+, is it new and what have you heard about it? The company told me it’s the same as the i6+ except it’s not compatible with the jet mop. So I bought the i1+ and I’m not sure why it has a tough time getting up into my carpet from the linoleum because my carpet is flat and not high. The iHome vacuum didn’t have a problem transferring to the other room. I sent a message to iRobot about it and they said “Hi Kris, the maximum height of a threshold that all Roomba models can transition over, when performing a cleaning cycle, is ⅝ in (1.6 cm).”. I have no idea what the height is on mine. Love your videos and thank you for your help. The s9 looks awesome but that’s too high for my price range
I like the look of the robot, but if I ignore the dirt bin, I think the Wyze did a better job. This was a disappointing run for a Roomba who normally really sets the bar for cleaning.
Adam I saw a test where someone cut two of the arms off the spinning brush and it seems to to a lot better on hard floor. Maybe something you can test by only having a single arm brush?
Hey I watch all you videos and would love to win a free Robot. Any chance you’d consider giving away a Roborock? I have an I3+ and am thrilled with its performance. Also have an older Roomba 780-still running great. After seeing your reviews & stress tests I would really like to be able to test a Roborock-however, I would be most grateful to win any of the bots. Thanks for your videos!
Sorry I was late to this video I had soccer practice and school so my schedule was busy but I would like to sign up for the giveaway because I really like your videos and I don’t have enough money to get a smart robot vacuum so I would love any kind of smart navigation robot vacuum with no go zones I understand if I’m not picked but I want to say I love your videos (just saying that not trying to get giveaway) also if there are other people for the giveaway that don’t have robot vacuums then I think you should pick them instead of me if I win because I already have one it’s just a random navigation one

How does the Roomba do on deep pile carpet?
What’s happening with the other giveaway from about 4 months ago? I would like any of them as I haven’t got a decent robot Vac ever. Great vids mate.
I'd love the amarey
I would live another robot for my basement. The i3 dont like being switched locations.

Is the i6 able to map/navigate in a dark room (nighttime) or does the camera need to be in a light space to orient the vacuum?
Great question I would like to know as well 🤔 he never answered 😆
Cameras need light, lidar systems do not
So i tinkered with the side brush module. I added a couple of resistors and it slowed the motor down.
Did it help?
Result?
@@AdamsReviews Works great on hard floor rice tests. No more flinging rice or debris around.
