I'll bet those forward guns could be illuminated if the barrels were simply replaced with acrylic rod and painted over. Put the detail back with some thin sheet polystyrene. Paint them and polish off the end. Bang!
Liked the Mecca heiny ho reference. That would be something taken from Jambi on the ol’ Pee Wee Herman show as I recall. Funny how some of the silliest stuff sticks in our brains! Great tutorial on this build, more IS Better!
Lou just heads up for the clipper, HDA already has decals for the PanAm with cockpit and cabin interior. Also you'll need to build an insert for the inner nose. The bridge between the engines is a little thin. I use some sheet styrene to correct that. Its an easy fun build. Its beautifully large. 😎🤟
just tuned it,was wondering how this Razorcrest is different from the other one. I got my Culttvman Clipper kit too, now I need to find the Pan Am decals
Lou, having built the X Plus Maria Robot, I have a quick tip for when you get around to it: they provide an inner body with multiple internal locating pins on the "armour" pieces to mount them onto the body. I found it much easier to cut and dremel all these locating pins off so you can assemble the various leg and arm armour pieces individually, putty, sand and paint them off the figure and then simply slide them onto the body which you can paint black beforehand. Makes the whole process much easier. You might need to sand the inner body a bit to ensure the armour pieces slide easily over the inner arms and legs but saved me a lot of frustration and fit issues once I figured it out.
Amazon has the Round 2 Razer Crest. Also there’s 3 different versions of the clipper coming out. And finally Round 2 is going to release Galileo shuttle full interior.
Considering how much planning goes into the Round 2 open-bay-- one has to work hard to make sure things can be seen-- I say, this one is the better bet. Nice sturdy ship.
Hi Lou. Really nice end result for a week's work. I like the silver metal effect you got - I have both these Vallejo metallics and am just reaching the point of painting my Invaders UFO so if I can get a finish like you did I will be happy. Did you thin them down at all or use them straight from the bottle? I have had mixed results in the past and with the UFO just being all silver I want to get a good finish. The cockpit LED looks a bit bright but as you say, the camera tens to blow LED's out. If not using electronics to dim the light you could always give the LED a few coats of Tamiya smoke to knock it down a bit. Next kit decision could go either way - Razor Crest, Maria, Clipper or Razor Crest, Clipper Maria - the alternative question is do you want silver, silver, white or silver , white silver? You could dodge the question by doing Maria in a silvery bronze (as the actual prop was painted supposedly) rather than the on-screen silver look. As always, looking forward to next week's video (whichever kit you choose!) 👍😁
I would bet there is so little light in the cockpit to prevent reflections of the camera, since they cant just use the volume, less touch ups of camera reflections.
Buy both, then build the Revell for the extra and finer detail, but just use the engine-inserts from the R2 kit? Expensive I know, but it's an one way to go...?
@1:06:36 I spotted a little flash of engine or nav lighting showing through the top hull of the ship. I don't think that's intentional. Also, I think the other engine/nav is also visible through that "vent" at just the right angle.
Another fine Saturday morning. The dog snoozing on the rug, me in a comfortable chair, mug of coffee at my side, and Lou's weekly update on my tablet.

I'm glad somebody else noticed this. I wondered if it was too deep
An interesting project would be to combine the cargo bay from the revell and R2 cockpit. And I like the idea of motorising the engines.
the way R2 does the landing gear well is different so you couldn't do a straight swap
Get your ship together Lou :) - another great build

Great work once again! I wouldn't have expected it to be just a one week build, but looks like this goes together a lot easier than the Revell one.

It does seem to be over engineered.
Love this kit Lou. Didn’t I see a Maria in your collection?
Yes, that was a old resin kit. Heavy as as a brick. And not entirely accurate
@@aztekdummy Hi Lou I would like AMT or Revell to make Riot Mar starfighter from the mandalorian season 1 episode 5 the gunslinger
Amazon has the Round 2 Razer Crest. Also there’s 3 different versions of the clipper coming out. And finally Round 2 is going to release Galileo shuttle full interior.
Just two new clippers 1/72 & 1/350. There is already one that is about a foot long
Looks really great. The lighting looks well.
Just got my pre ordered kit from CultTVMan. I like the way you did the lighting.
Another gorgeous build, Lou!

Mine just arrived yesterday and I can't wait to start working on it. Going to try the starship filth oil paint for a wash.

straight from the bottle, but the secret is to make sure they are well shaken (or stirred)
Maria will be in the bronze/gold family
@@aztekdummy Ah, so Mrs. C3PO! 😄
No sound here either.
Your model lighting always kills me.
Really cool stuff, bro. I hope You had an awesome Halloween. Me? Thanks to the mall? I have not had trick or treaters in about 6 years... ☹
Not sure if it's my pad or not but not getting any sound?

Very nice! Thanks for all the hints.
Make sure you put a clear coat over the chipped areas
A great build by the master.

50/50 there are spots where there is more detail on the R2 version and the Revell is blander.

it's tough to tell, but i think thats just a reflection, not a light leak
You are so lucky! I am still waiting for my pre-order :(
Turned out awesome 👍 thanks for sharing
Almost want to combine both kits to make one great kit, if you have the money!
i bet that would work
She looks great Lou fantastic work as always, when you do the 2001 space clipper will you be putting Pan-Am decals on it like in the film.
If I can find any. I may see if those can be painted.
@@aztekdummy Have to admit if you can that would look fantastic.
Looks great Lou!
Any pointers on where to get Pan Am decals for the Clipper?
Imperial jammers.
Damn.
Hey, grab that R2 unit.
Awesome Maria model!
Are you going to make a Paint Masking Set for that Model ???
Yes
SOUND is operational.
Lou+ do you have the Gallo shuttle craft interior kit on order or the shuttle with the interior just curious
oh you betcha
You're tha best sirrrrrrrrrr! 👌
something better for your tombstone ;
" Beware the Schmutz ! "
:)
The sound is working for me fine on my PC. This one should be fun.
Shaka, the walls fell.
In your humble opinion which of the two Crests would you say is the better?
honestly, it depends on what you want. if you want to show it in flight, - Round 2. if you are making a diorama - Revell
Nice yet again, Lou! Is there a way to hook up a dimmer switch to the cockpit light?
it's really not that bad in real life. I swear.
Where do you buy this kit from?
culttvman.com
wel me never seen the show but if dun this whay and that how looks in show then looking good thare and ill see as post nenew
