    I find myself getting seasick mainly when I haven’t had much sleep and also when I’m on an empty stomach. I know exactly how you felt and it sucks! Hanging out in the water helps me feel much better than hanging out on a rocking boat. I’ve also found that taking Dramamine makes me feel way worse and don’t take that stuff anymore. Way to keep on truckin’!

    Plenty extra Palu in the water for the guys in the water lol. The trick with Dramamine (that works for me) is I take one tan 24 hours b4 the trip. Then half tab/full tab the morning of. This gives it plenty time to get in the system. If that no work, go get the patches from ur dr. And I had mean sea sickness b4. So bad that I would get sick in the harbor. I used to always be last on the boat and first one off.

Spent 5yrs active duty in the Coast Guard (Was stationed on the Cape Newagen and Cape Corwin on Maui back in the early 80’s) and threw up all the time. Even while tied up in Maalaea Harbor! I started using Scopalamine in the 90’s and I never get sick anymore. I have a 25’ boat and I can be out in the worst of conditions and I am fine. Go to your DR. I put the patch on the night before going out just before bed. It can make you feel a little “loopy” and you will probably get cottonmouth. Hydrate up and take it easy till you get used to it.
      Warning! Be very very careful. Scrub your hands with soap and water after handling the patch. Be especially careful around your eyes. Do not touch your eyes after touching the patch. Be very careful to keep your hands away from your eyes.

    Go to doc. Ask for Scopalamine prescription. Patch goes behind your ear on your neck. I've barfed my way through 3 day and a half sportfishing trips on big diesel exhaust smelling 9 knots rolling boats down to mex. I finally quit trying to use Dramamine, Bromine, Ginger, Crackers, Staring at the horizon, Getting fresh air, never going below deck.....none of that ever worked. Now that I use the patch....I'm dancing on the boat while others are miserable. HAhahahahahha.

    • @caseymaze
      @caseymaze Рік тому +4

      @@hawaiihammahs I’ll be honest I’ve never tried it. I don’t usually spear off a boat and I don’t usually get seasick shore diving. I’m sure it’s work with a hood on for sure. The biggest problem with the patch is that it is a vasodialator…what does that mean? You have to wash your hands off really well after applying. What happens a lot of the time is guys go touch it or scratch it, then they run their eyes and their pupil(s) get huge like when you’re in the dark. It’s no biggie at night…but if your in the sun on a boat deck and rub your eyes…those hug dilated pupils let a lot of light in😂😂. Just gotta remember not to mess w it once it’s on. It’s friggin insane how well it works though.

    1) Full dose of Bonine the night before the trip and then another at least two hours before getting on the water. Dramamine works too.
    2) The Scopolamine patch… apply at least 4 hours before boarding.

    Dramamine for me. 4 hour intervals take the max amount two at the shortest intervals. Make sure to start it before you head out. So you have one dose in you before getting on the boat. The second dose should be right when you start to boat or earlier. Just make sure to have 1 dose ahead of when you start to go out. Also when traveling on the water keep your eyes on the horizon nothing else.

    Great video. Ginger capsules are good for preventing seasickness. Take some ginger ale with you and saltines. An empty stomach makes one more nauseated.

    Hey brother, I get sea sick easy as well. The best cure that I have found are the behind the ear patches. Game changer for me. Great vid though, hope the tip works.

    Loads of patches available but best thing to do to avoid is. NEVER LOOK DOWN focus on the horizon. Try to be the driver of the boat. Get your GoPro set up before boarding because as soon as you look down to fiddle with it, it’s game over.
