Seeing the drill at the end shows how important this is: the guys were having a hard time because as you said they were at a defensive point, this shows how much of a disadvantage that is like you said. But also, they did seem more able to deal with that surprise attack. Because of their prepared mind instead of staying in a shock and a fearfull feeling, also their emotional preparation of dealing with all those emotions, using agression, being actually willing to use that agression, being fit enough to act, training to respond faster, and being in a more aware state in general hopefully. Surprise attacks it are yes, but switching on fast after that to respond does seem helpful ofc. So besides this drilled movement pattern, the intuitive reaction is also very important... so you do something that you can in the moment and make it count, and also try to look around and finally run away. Its pretty complicated/difficult to execute... but it does look very solid. Really good approach man, awesome!
Brother Mulder, today, I have a private lesson where I'm teaching a Boxing Coach and his son the idea of a "JKD Moment" where I pick a tool ( like a strike or kick ) as Bruce Lee would say, and look at how to deliver it quicker and stronger by changing variables like movement whether in and out, up and down, or even in a circular motion. Well...what you call a "Double Slap", we call a "Cymbal Slap" and that's the tool we'll be working on today!!! It's bad enough that you're training sessions are so creative and realistic, but, NOW, you're clairvoyant as well!!! Your students won't give those attackers a chance of laying a hand on them!!! "Talk About Spontaneity Training To The 3rd Power!!!" LOL !!! JKD Sifu Mike Goldberg in Fort Worth, Texas.
Love this concept. No bullshit, just effectivness. But - are there some special* recommendations for small people? It makes a hughe difference if I weight 65kg 170cm or 90kg 188cm. I know there is Nothing to become equal but are there maybe some techniques which work some % better for small people or you alresdy made videos for this subject? Thanks for great content and keep rocking:)
Thanks! The whole concept of UC is based on self protection! It’s always when you are the “weaker, shorter, smaller” one! Otherwise you would never be victimized anyway! So we teach good de-escalation skills if you cannot avoid and escape…and number 1 is : seeing the problem before it becomes a problem..this allows you to attack first. And never stop attacking until the threat is done! So good awareness with dirty tactics give you a solid chance!
Thanks for the attention to detail in your demonstrations-I have trained similar techniques in Krav Maga sessions before, but you have given them a new perspective. On another scenario-how do you deal with a boxer, cos they know how to throw a punch, where to land it and how to take a hit too?
@@schoolofselfprotection Thank you and please keep uploading your videos, which along with Master Morrison, deliver the best coaching on real life fighting, on UA-cam.

Is there any job for a folding/gluing machine setter with 7 years experience?
I want to move near to this gym and start training there. :D

We tested it on pro-boxers😁 cover crash counter is really effective when done properly. Feeling is believing!
