When I had Covid I sat on my couch all day and did crosswords. They divert your mind a bit. But agree with you about the therapeutic power of laughter.
I’ve got Covid right now, day 9 along with my children who are 17 and 14. My symptoms and my son’s have been strange, like a head cold, foggy brain and dizzy like my head is in a fish bowl. Anxiety and upset stomach the whole time. I have just been taking extra doses of D, C, and zinc. I was already taking them before I got sick. With that being said, I take pretty good care of myself. Im in good shape for 42, weigh about 125 and I’m 5’5”. I think the biggest thing that people don’t recognize is that if you are over weight, don’t take supplements, don’t exercise, lack of sleep you are gonna be in big trouble. Im adamant that I get no less that 7-8 hours of sleep. I don’t drink nor do I take any pharmaceutical drugs. It just kills me when people are all about masks and yet you should see the crap in their grocery carts. Mind you they are all worried about Covid yet they aren’t worried about heart disease or obesity. Our symptoms weren’t bad. And no, I’m not getting the vaccine either. We’ve blown this thing out of the water about how deadly it is yet the people who are really sick from it don’t take care of themselves. Yes, some healthy people struggle and even die from it but has anyone thought about maybe God is our healer and if it’s in his will it will be done. I prayed a lot in the blood of Jesus during these past 9 days and I put my faith in my Savior not the media. Stay off social media, think positive, get your butt up and move and eat a healthy balanced diet, DRINK TONS OF WATER and get some sleep. Our bodies weren’t designed to be lazy putting poison in our bodies and minds. God bless!
I did get covid in late March 2020 but me being healthy and exercise regularly my immune system fought it and was better in a week the symptoms were mild just felt really really tired 😴 but thank God I recovered.

I’m a gardener and that’s even true of plants. If you keep plants healthy, give them the right nutrients, sunlight and water, they will stay strong and virus/disease free. If they don’t get the right amount of even one of these things, virus will quickly take them. Disease and pests don’t attack healthy plants, they attack the unhealthy ones. We are the same.
Australia at the moment is being forced to take vaccines even though we have had young people getting clots and are in hospital. The health commissioner keeps on pushing for lockdowns. I work with people with mental issues and am finding people feeling suicidal after the fear the states has been put on them. I’m in Melbourne, I am sick of these lockdowns, fortunately I have trained myself to ignore everything most of the time, I have my beliefs about this virus release and am glad I’m an introvert! I’ve been obsessed with having a healthy immune system the past 20 years. Cancer is a failure of the immune system so that was my concern. I had not even had as much as a cold, much less the flu, in 17 years. I did get Covid (which shows how contagious it is) but it was very mild and would probably have gone about my life as usual if I hadn’t gotten tested just to be sure. I’m vegan (nothing processed) take certain supplements, and make a green juice and exercise everyday.
Ditto! No flu or colds for 25 years now, take echinacea and D3 and lots of exercise in clean country air. So far no sign of Codic, though as I haven';t had a test I may have simply had no symptoms, which is what I would expect, had no side effects from the vaccines.

That being said, working out is surely a good thing. But no point working out and not having enough of sleep. I would rate sleep as the most important. 1) Sleep 2) Healthy diet (high amount of sugar kills the immune) 3) Exercise

(Don’t drink water 20 minutes before eating food, while eating and until 2 hours after eating food) (Kidney and Heart problem patients should consult their doctor before attempting) 2. Twice excreting (Bowel Movements) in the morning. 3. Minimum 45 minutes of Brisk Walk covering 4.5 Km & 20 minutes exposure to SUN 4. Minimum 7 hours deep sleep between 10 pm to 5 am. 5. Mind Management - Mind has the power to influence body positively or negatively. Chronic stress leads to health problems. Isha’s Inner engineering program helps. 6. Last summer I had this same conversation with an associate who is a school teacher. Her response - I never heard anyone say anything about strengthening your immune system helping you with covid. Most people I know who have long covid have suffered with chronic stress, also due to not expressing emotions eg anger , keeping all these emotions in when people can stress you is very harmful long term.All the people I know with long covid are nice people who avoid conflict ! I think this is an issue that needs to be dealt with ASAP by doing inner healing work/counselling to avoid long covid, chronic illness 🙏

Australia at the moment is being forced to take vaccines even though we have had young people getting clots and are in hospital. The health commissioner keeps on pushing for lockdowns. I work with people with mental issues and am finding people feeling suicidal after the fear the states has been put on them. I’m in Melbourne, I am sick of these lockdowns, fortunately I have trained myself to ignore everything most of the time, I have my beliefs about this virus release and am glad I’m an introvert! I was told by a doctor here to take zinc the moment I feel low, also try music therapy- classical music no rock’n’roll, over time you begin to relax and tune out of the world because there’s no hateful words to listen to, just the purity of the instruments.

I’ve been obsessed with having a healthy immune system the past 20 years. Cancer is a failure of the immune system so that was my concern. I had not even had as much as a cold, much less the flu, in 17 years. I did get Covid (which shows how contagious it is) but it was very mild and would probably have gone about my life as usual if I hadn’t gotten tested just to be sure. I’m vegan (nothing processed) take certain supplements, and make a green juice and exercise everyday.
Ditto! No flu or colds for 25 years now, take echinacea and D3 and lots of exercise in clean country air. So far no sign of Codic, though as I haven';t had a test I may have simply had no symptoms, which is what I would expect, had no side effects from the vaccines.

I’m 70yr and have Type 2 Diabetes, I exercise daily and rattle with the supplements I take daily. I’ve never had covid either but then we lock down if just one person has covid and was infectious moving about innocently (no symptoms) without isolating until they were tested.

I always tell people, before hitting the gym, make sure to sleep enough. Lack of exercise wouldn't really destroy our immune but lack of sleep definitely would! That being said, working out is surely a good thing. But no point working out and not having enough of sleep. I would rate sleep as the most important.

In July 2020 I stopped eating sugar completely and went low carb, lost 30 lb! Now whole foods only, more sunshine and exercise. I'm 65 years old and in the best health that I've been in decades. Thank you for stressing immunity, I often wonder why no one talks about it.

It wasn't as hard to give up bread as I thought it would be. I was surprised how quickly my body adapted.
@Blythe Girl I make mine using almond flour and coconut flour and sometimes I'll eat a low carb wrap. But even those I rarely eat, I just don't crave bread anymore. There are tons of recipes on the internet, look up keto recipes for bread.

As a health major in community health education and educator in chronic illness for past 23 years I have been appauled at the lack of good health information especially for adults during this pandemic. There are so many simple things one can do even with a illness to help the body stay strong and fight illness. Exercise and decent food and suppliments, there I said it vitamins and suppliments. But I have heard very little about these things. wearing mask and vaccine great but there is so much more., thank you for bringing this up. Be well.

They really make a difference, not only with the immune system but also with slowing the effects of the aging process. I was diagnosed with leukemia 22 years ago and have been noticing others my age (47) are experiencing a lot more chronic health problems due to chronic systemic inflammation. Seven essentials for good health (air, water, food,excretion,exercise,rest & mind management) balances five elements (space,air,fire,water&earth) in our body. Balance of five elements is Health, Imbalance of five elements is Ill health.
1. Drink 3 to 4 Liters of water every day. (Don’t drink water 20 minutes before eating food, while eating and until 2 hours after eating food)
(Kidney and Heart problem patients should consult their doctor before attempting)
2. Twice excreting (Bowel Movements) in the morning.
3. Minimum 45 minutes of Brisk Walk covering 4.5 Km & 20 minutes exposure to SUN
4. Minimum 7 hours deep sleep between 10 pm to 5 am.
5. Mind Management - Mind has the power to influence body positively or negatively. Chronic stress leads to health problems. Isha’s Inner engineering program helps.
6. Avoidance of Stimulants like Coffee, Tea, Alcohol, Tobacco, Avoid or reduce Packaged Foods, Junk Foods , Non- Vegetarian Foods, Dairy and bakery Foods.
7. Eating only twice when Hungry and maintaining the same timings, Eat preferably between 11 am to 7 pm. Don’t eat anything in between two meals except water.
This way, one is able to do 16 hours fasting everyday, which is the secret for boosting Immunity and help the body to repair, rejuvenate & cure METABOLIC SYNDROME.
(If one is keen for Good Health, 15hours fasting every day. Take vegetable juice or smoothy at 10 am. At 11 am first cooked meal and eat second time uncooked food before 7 pm. Like Sprouts, fresh coconut, dates, seasonal fruits, Soaked nuts and seeds like ground nuts, almonds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds & watermelon seeds.
8. Fifteen minutes of Pranayama & fifteen minutes of Meditation everyday.
9. Fasting once in a fortnight with honey and lemon water. When one is sick body gives symptoms like no appetite, fever, cough,cold body pains etc to tell us NOT TO EAT & REST. Body has self healing capability provided we listen to body and follow. Lankanam( fasting when sick) is the BEST MEDICINE). During Fasting one should consume only water & rest. Coconut water, fruit juices, honey and lemon water helps to fast for 3 to 4 days without discomfort or loss of energy.
Following health parameters must be maintained to remain Healthy & Well
1. Fasting Insulin 3 to 5 mU/L 2. Fasting Sugar < 99. 3. HbA1c < 5.6% 4. Llipid- TG:HDL ratio 1(+- 0.5). 5. D Vitamin > 40 ng/ml. 6. B 12 Vitamin > 400 pg/ml 7. BP 90/60 to 120/80. 8. Height to Weight ratio - BMI 19 - 24.9. Height to Waist ratio should be less than half that of their height in Inches.5’6” (66”) person should have waist size 33”. ( ksg rao- 24-7-21)

Last summer I had this same conversation with an associate who is a school teacher. Her response - I never heard anyone say anything about strengthening your immune system helping you with covid. A public school teacher and she knows nothing about how the immune system works in helping us to fight off sickness. There goes our future 😩

Im 42 years old. Working out since I was 18. Happy to say that my immune system has been operating optimally with very few bouts of illness. What the good doc says is true!
usually that will set you in good stead but our most recent Covid death was a 47 year old football player who had no underlying health issues (that we know of!). He was an anti-vaxxer. So sad for his family. Covid is Russian roulette - 5 barrels are harmless but one is deadly.

@@GenXer333 I myself drink a few a week, I live a heathy lifestyle with regular exercising, many people who don't drink or smoke also can die an early age from eating too much, or the wrong foods. Its how we live our life on the whole, but the most important thing is being happy with what you are doing, I mean truly happy.

Most people I know who have long covid have suffered with chronic stress, also due to not expressing emotions eg anger , keeping all these emotions in when people can stress you is very harmful long term.All the people I know with long covid are nice people who avoid conflict ! I think this is an issue that needs to be dealt with ASAP by doing inner healing work/counselling to avoid long covid, chronic illness 🙏

You make a good case Rupinder, very logical. My own experience is too complicated to go into, but it confirms the truth of your statement. I particularly appreciate the rare times that someone understands the huge difference between expressing anger and suppressing it - which is what really kills. As in many cases of good ideas, no study will probably be done to be able to scientifically prove what you said, but common sense, experience and logic say that at the very least, people who have this problem need help - even regardless of covid...
