Grrrreat in depth video Jim! Glad I came across this as I do not own anything from Pena until this!.. it was a nice surprise to see that these are even still available! I just grabbed one! 🙏🖤🔪
Why are these still available? Why did I click on this? Why? I JUST GRABBED THE 3V CARBON DEMKO!!! Like today. Yea, skiff bearings, Lynch clip, Titanium Standoffs… The proverbial works if you will. I gotta grab one. Damnit. I love this shit.
@@JimSkeltonKnives Jim, I’m a Grateful Recovering Addict. Been on the old wagon for over 15 years. I’d spend almost a Grand a week on junk. Nowadays I work hard, and I don’t begrudge myself a few “Hobbies” that truly make me complete. Knives have given me a great outlet, and some new homies. Which is the best part honestly. Thanks for the reply, and the B-Roll portion of this video was top notch. The camera work, editing, lighting, etc…💯
@@Blazerghost as I understand it, they machine their own uppers and lowers. Also, there are “builders” who simply put together the parts you pay for and call it a build, these guys go beyond that and make the builds appropriately. Your gun is tuned for your specific use as you need it, they hand fit parts that aren’t going to mate well from simply dropping in, and take the steps that some builders won’t take (such as properly staking the castle nut… which should be common and done by everyone but still isn’t) and probably a myriad of other things that I’m not qualified to speak on.
Thank you. I’ve been a gun person far longer than a knife person and love them equally. If I ever hit the lottery, I know where a vast amount of that money will be spent LOL. I remember buying my first 1911 (a Colt Tactical Officer’s Lightweight when it was introduced in the early 90s), and I remember my last custom 1911 purchase which was an Ed Brown Kobra Carry and maaaaan, the differences were absolutely night and day.

Nice video. Looooonnngggggggg.... Did I miss if you mentioned that this is a front flipper too? I am not sure I heard that or saw you front flip it. (I hate front flippers....) Sons of Liberty Logo is a bit much for me but YMMV. THX Jim.
It does front flip, yes. But the front tab isn’t large or obtrusive like some are. Check out the other Mula variants that might appeal to you more. This knife, in general, is a must-have.
Oooof! Better check to see if your order went through. Some companies will cancel orders that slip in like that. I don’t know if they do, but I would check. My buddy who ordered his the at the same time I did got his this morning and he’s in PA.
They just had a batch in June. It was showing discontinued or whatever on the site right up till they actually had them then right back to discontinued. They sold out as soon as they went up and everybody ran to the CRK groups to post them for $1200
I have a Mula and am torn on getting this. I love my Damasteel blade with red fat carbon fiber. What do I do?!? By the way, Skiff bearings make this so smooth and drop shutty!!
I already had the original x series full ti Mula and one of the inlay ones from a year or so ago. I bought one of these as soon as they dropped Friday last week.
Can't wait for my Avian too. I pre ordered think it was June 21st. Might have to try calling SOLGW again tomorrow. Figure I would have had it by now been 6 days and my account still says processing. I emailed and messaged on IG haven't heard anything back I did call the day I ordered since I am out of town and put in shipping here not billing to let them know it was me and there was no answer went to voice mail so then I just emailed but nothing. I have some SOLGW parts not a complete carbine. They are along the lines of something like BCM, Sionics, DD to people that aren't familiar. One of the higher quality AR15s you can get in the say $1k-1500 range
@@AlmightyAnt300 I’ve said it for years… I hate front flippers. Changing the position it sits in the hand just to flip it open is counterproductive IMO. It’s just awkward.
Hi Jim. Longtime fan. Keep up the good work. Little bit of constructive criticism here. I like the in depth reviews, but man, sometimes I just can't last past 25 minutes into a review.
I’m gonna have to cancel all my subscriptions. I spend too much money. Now I’m gonna have to get one of these too. Just got the 229 Rendincion like 2 days ago, Pena Raptor, and WE Thug all in a week….
I maxxed one of my cards out again in July. I have my cards setup to just pay automatically they pay themselves out of my checking the 4th of every month well this card has a $10k limit and I guess I maxxed it around the 25th of July lol. That was nothing but knives I bought last month but some weren't crazy expensive but they weren't cheap either. I just had the Brown FSD come today that was one of them I bought. It wasn't the only card either though I bought a bunch of stuff with one of my debit cards too lol. Need to sell some. I def plan on selling off some stuff since I have a pile of duplicates that I never even opened the boxes to and a bunch of impulse buy stuff I just never cared for. I have got into higher end stuff now too so probably sell some of the stuff I am just not that into anymore. I still like Spyderco and buy some sprints and exclusives and other cool stuff that comes out but they haven't had that much lately probably sell some of that and most of the Benchmades since now for the most part all I buy are higher end production, mid techs, guess you can call some semi customs think that Brown Knives is that, and customs. I got on the list for a custom Boos Blades a couple weeks ago. Pretty cool and the base is only $500 on a full custom. I have got a dozen or so customs this summer that were $700 or less seemed pretty reasonable especially since I have plenty Reate and Bestech produced knives that cost that much or more, CKF too can't wait for that Evo 3.0 to get here but I have a bunch of their knives that were $500-1k made wherever they are made. I think they have parts machined in China then final work in Russia I don't know but think Mike lives in Bratislava now and that is in Slovakia not Russia. Been on a real higher end user US made kick this year bought a bunch of Hinderers, Striders, CRK, Spartan, Demko, McNees. The one custom I got that was a really killer deal is an Alan Kritzman MAZ. I got it from Knifecenter in June for $365. Silver twill CF, ti liners, Nitro V right after I bought it KC put up a few more MAZ customs but they were double that price. Assuming maybe this is one they got at Blade last year they wanted to get rid of before posting the new ones from Blade since it was on sale a couple weeks after Blade and on top of it being $365 I used $50 in rewards points so guess I paid $315 great price for a US made custom kinda looks like a Terzuola

It's a previliege to be watchiung your show. Very informative. Alsoi like the "occasionally inserted one liner". Cowabunga mate.
Cowabunga, indeed

Jim~ love the analogy with custom 1911’s
They literally just put outsourced parts together 🥴 just like BCM

Hey Jim, Sons of Liberty is based out here in San Antonio.
Thaaaats right. I don’t know why but I always confuse San Antonio and Austin.

It's a shame so many knifes now shy away from the classic unapologetic tanto style blade. It's so nice when done properly
They went live a min earlier then it was supposed to and I ordered then. I still haven't even got a tracking number lol.

Why didn't you use the front flipper?
Because I don’t pee sitting down.
