A Lok Sabha MP who’s party the Mizo National Front is a member of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance and who voted against the Modi government in yesterday’s No Confidence Motion, says that the entire North East and, particularly, the tribal communities feel “let down” by Prime Minister Modi. Mr. C. Lalrosanga said that Mr. Modi should have spoken about the crisis in Manipur at the very start of his speech and before raising any other issues. Instead, Mr. Modi only spoke about Manipur after 90 minutes and that too, according to the Calcutta paper The Telegraph, for five minutes in the first instance and thirty seconds in the second.

Thanks once a again Karan Thapar for the interview with Lalrosanga. PM speech was quite disappointing. I was shocked by the choice of words used by PM, sloganeering etc.. all was done not to speak on Manipur. It was just whataboutery, hollow and disrespect for the burning issue Manipur. Only, one thing even after series of interview you have done with people living in Manipur, I fail to understand his inaction, silence on Manipur.
Destroying of Churches is not only painful for the Kukis also for all the Christians in the whole World
Our Kuki brothers are more Indian than anyone I know. As an imphal born and brought up Mizo, their love for Indian culture is even more than any of the other tribal Christians in the Northeast that I know.
Their favourite icons are always Indians in sports, imitating bollywood dances, harbouring no ill wills against other religions. The union Home Minister branding the Kukis as illegal immigrants from Myanmar to those bonfide citizens of India should be taken as an act of treason.
Edit: UNC if they do that what good will come out of it if they wanted a Naga unifications, and all the Tangkhuls and other Naga tribes from Myanmar. Why hate the kukis till now?
The Naga of Manipur their silence or neutral stance at this moment will be detrimental to their own movement because there is actual data according to the 2011 census that there is a huge abnormal growth in their Districts such as Senapati(Over 60%), Tamenglong and Ukhrul has over 30% growth too. So, they will face the same fate when they are no longer useful.

Mr. Karan, one humble request. Can you please interview the then DGP of Manipur Mr. Paotinmang Doungel (IPS) ?. He is the one who knows the nook and corner of every events and actions the state govt took to control the violence and clash from the beginning. He is the one who knows all the timeline of incidents and actions taken by the state police to contain the violence. He is the one who can expose all the orders from the higher up and what was actually going on from the beginning. He is a Kuki DGP and as a Kuki myself, We want to know why he is silent and want him to speak out.
It's actually a funny story really . You see he controls the intelligence for the CM and didn't tell about the initial violence that started in ccpur so he got suspended. He probably feeling extreme guilt for killing not only meiteis but also he his own ppl so he likely won't be seen any soon

This has been insightful...& my humble counter to NPF's logic is that after this ethnic cleansing if successful of wiping out kukis , 10 years down the line can the Nagas be sure that the ethnic cleansings ugly head wouldn't come knocking at their door as well ?
As a person from Mizoram I think the Nagas have to consider this carefully, not that we have a say in it of course. At the moment they seem to have the opinion that the kukis are a common enemy with regards to their aspiration of a future 'Nagalim' when the Naga issue is settled. As far as my knowledge goes, the Kuki-Zomi community aren't opposed to their aspirations, and this should not be the reason. If there are other reasons, others can let me know.
Not that our opinion matters, but we in Mizoram, for the past 70 years we have deep sympathy for the naga people in their struggle and have helped them in as much as we can since the time of AZ Phizo. I pray the Nagas will be wise enough to look at the bigger picture and refrain from taking advantage of the situation especially when others are in misery. If they go ahead in cahoots with the meiteis, it will be automatic severance from us, by blood and in spirit. Mizoram will not raise a single voice when it is their turn against the Meiteis.

Kuki Zo community should merged with Mizoram state if not UT. As long as majority Meitei corner all state economic budgetary shares there will be no peace in Manipur.
Well this is least possible option I can say a state is still possible than merger of states.the kukis need a safe place and that’s not Manipur in its current form but merging means the nagas, the Gurkhas, Bengalis,marathis,Tamils everyone can ask for it since most states in India does have minorities who should have been part of other states and that’s a Pandora’s box GOI is not going to open.
