Thank you for this video, Fire Reid. The work is moving to a much more advanced stage now, with the completion and opening of the Highway set for January 2023.
Hail up Fire Reid... Please tek care when standing by the roadside dem... You know how some drivers really can't drive! Stay Blessed and thanks for another informative video🙏🏿🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
Danroy you seem to take a keen interest regarding the highway developments across Jamaica. Maybe you should take a trip to go see some of them. There is about 7 major ones plus a few others being done by local construction companies 👍
Hey 🔥 firereid good 👍 job you doing we love and your channel ❤ keep it up. Whenever you passing any lot for sale just go a bit closer cause am looking out. Thank you.
Bless up urself mi G...the question I want to ask u...coming fr may pen to Williamsfield...which sides of the road the highway built on...the right fr maypen or the left fr maypen????
Are you sure it's completion will end in Ocho Rios? There is too many housing development along highway 2000 towards Ocho Rios, so maybe this new roadway will end in Runaway Bay St Ann area instead of Ocho Rios. If I'm wrong let me know.
Fire Reid that May Pen by-pass bridge that you are standing span the Rio Minho river. One rainy season, May June flood rain, the Rio minho river overflowed it's banks, water level rose and crested above the bridge roadway, about 2 Am in the morning. The water washed away the east bound lane connection to the bridge. A loaded minibus was coming from Mandeville with about 18 passenger didn't notice the breakaway, and went down in the flood water, killing everyone. Most of the bodies were never recovered, because the flood water washed them out to sea. I Can't forget the name of the Minibus, 'Blue Streak", the driver's name was Samuel Windy. A truck had went over the bridge before the minibus, but that truck driver escaped, and was trying to alert the minibus of the danger, but the driver of the minibus ignored and went directly into the flood waters. I was in Jamaica spending time with my Aunt when the incident occured. I think it was 1986. Do you remember?
Wow , this so sad I don't remember hearing about this may be I was a youngter in school thank God for social media now , fire Reid you should have some one tour with you be careful sir God cover you 🇺🇸🇯🇲
These Highways should have been built from the 70's especially during bauxite mining, if my memory serve me right, Trinidad has had cross Country highways from that time, now you have people warning us about accessing Chinese loans for these highways now being built. In the U.S&Europe etc. they've had highways since the 30's shows how backwards we are. the Colonialist clearly thought these type of infrastructure was too good for us. Ps. Those trucks look like the Chinese built Truck [Shacman] I think it cost half as much as any other, so how can people tell us not to deal with them without providing an alternative?
Audley Mc lean: You must stop comparing Trinidad and Tobago with Jamaica 😡 Trinidad and Tobago is rich so they have a faster development than Jamaica. That was one of the reasons the United States told Bustamante to vote against the Federation divided and conquer 😡 The United States saw the Federation of the West Indies as a big problem to them.
Germany was the first country in the world to build highway? Germany started building hwy in the 1920's that time Germany didn't have too many cars on the road but they were planning for the future, in 1933 Hitler took over the hwy project like is him started it.😅😂 in 1933 Hitler took over Germany and continued the hwy project.Hitler started the Autobahn construction. Is in world war 2 the allied forces learned about the highway in Germany. The United States Army Corps of Engineer study the hwy network in Germany and take back the knowledge to the United States
Audley Mc lean: The first 6 lane road way in Jamaica was built in 70's by the Michael Manley government in those days Jamaica didn't have much vehicles on the road. Who remember from the road way from 3 miles to 6 mile and 6 miles to Spanish town it was 2 narrow road way and Michael Manley government opened 3 miles to 6 mile and dual carriage way on the ferry road and all those bypass roads Mandeville, May pen, linstead, fern gully bypass etc.
Whilst this will be a good development who is building the new highway China? If both who is the major player? China or Jamaica... Wonder how much this will cost and for how long will Jamaicans be paying for it! ???
People who want to chat let them chat time is going try and get a pice of the rock befour its too late when so people return back home too late dont turn ur back on jamaica....
Why this is a good luck but it going to cause we Jamaican people to drive on this highway it's ridiculous the government making this all road to call all Jamaican people to drive on
Dannavan Griffiths: If you don't have the money to develop a hwy!! You Barrow a loan to do the development. You rather stuck in traffic for 4 hours just to travel 6 miles and burned fuel that's not Economical
Dannavan Griffiths: That's the reason why these big companies like Tank weld, Arc Hardware, Zoukie trucking etc. used the toll road, because time is money.
first of all the toll road are expensive to drive and nowhere in America cause $15 to drive on toll road nowhere in this state in Jamaica it's be like for the US dollar to drive on one of the leg and I weigh this ridiculous man come on we don't have it anymore I'm Jamaican going into a ditch man can't get out the Chinese going to take over Jamaica we all know. The government nothing not seeing what's going to happen to Jamaican d man just trying to build a road

Thats rio minho river under the bridge..lingest river in ja
Ha ha, I think z Black River, 44 miles long, n joins the Caribbean sea under bridge in BR., is the longest river in Jamaica.
Rio Minho River is 58 Miles long and Black River is 34 miles. So Rio Minho is the longest river in Jamaica.

There are $15 bridge tolls in the US - so what are you talking about? and if you don't want the Chinese - then you put up the money...
