Old Man Van - Bill - I am so happy for you that your ITB healed and you are on track to run the legendary Boston Marathon! Good for you. What a thrill you will have, cruising past the famous Wellesley College screaming college students, powering up the Heartbreak Hill, and then spotting the famous Citgo sign at one mile to go. Somewhere along the course is supposed to be the famous statue of John Kelley - I hope you spot it. Google exactly where it is so that you can find it. [I don't know, because I'm too slow to run Boston.] Have a careful taper - don't get re-injured - and have a great time in the Boston Marathon!

Feeling great and ready to go!...As Boston discourages runners filming during the race, I won't be posting my normal in-race video, but will be doing a race-weekend video with a slide show of the race and pre and post-race clips.....I am being VERY careful with my taper and am still incorporating pool work as a precaution.....ALL SYSTEMS GO!
@@oldmanvanrunning I wish you could film more of the race, but I know you want to follow Boston's protocols about filming. Yes, be VERY careful with your taper - and NO playing soccer with your friends or playing tag with your dog. Protect those legs.
@@oldmanvanrunning it's med tent 2 just around 10k. I'm going to be leading a forward walking crew from the med tent 2, so basically out on the course there. If you have an idea of what time you will come through that area I will try to get some photos
Bill, I am sorry for your town that your historic World War I War Memorial was badly damaged by a hit-and-run driver. That is a beautiful part of your town's history. I felt sorry for your town when I heard that on the news. I hope they can repair it.
@@oldmanvanrunning Yes, unfortunate - it makes me sad, as I love history and historical monuments. The online article I read said it will be very difficult to repair it because the materials are so heavy and the craftsmanship is so old that it will be difficult to find someone with the skills and equipment to repair it.
I'm glad that the 5 victims are impressed on us for honoring their legacies. Martin Richard (killed by the second bomb) Krystle Campbell (killed by the first bomb) Lingzi lu (killed by the second bomb) Sean collier (shot to death by Tamerlan Tsarnaev) Dennis Simmonds (died from head injuries from a pipe bomb thrown by Dzhokhar Tsarnaev during the Watertown shootout) they are never forgotten always being missed. they may have been destroyed and wiped out during the Massachusetts incidents in 2013, but their legacies will continue. they will be in our hearts and rest in peace.
