Yeah if they’re fitted originally from factory as OEM spec, then you’re done but retrofitted, they’re not usually legal. State laws may be a little different however across the board, they’re pretty much illegal. Thanks for your comments 👍
That's great info about the washers and led headlights Grant. I will check for VIC and see if the same rules apply. Luckily mine has the washer wipers on the headlights, so it may be legal for me to use them! The festoon led lamp in the car looked like a super nova! In my sons Magna, the led festoon lamp glowed when off - I think it was part of the sensor system to detect blown lamps? Yours obviously doesn't have this annoyance. Something for your viewers to check for themselves. Thanks, absolutely love your channel and your straight talk.
I believe ( from what I understand ) provided your headlights have the ability to wash as you drive, you may be able to use them but to be 100% legal, your vehicle must have the auto adjusting ability too. Tyler Thompson mentioned this in his Navara "how to get long travel suspension" video and shows the bracket that may need to be extended to keep the auto headlight adjustment legal - ua-cam.com/video/agYTO8-DoMQ/v-deo.html at the 11:44 mark for those interested. Yeah the insane light is bloody insane - it really doesn't even accurately show up on camera, it's like daylight in there now and I love it !!! Thanks for your comments and the lovely feedback too mate, greatly and sincerely appreciated. I hope you've hit that subscribe button 😉👍 Cheers mate and all the best.
I haven’t fitted led headlights for same reason although changed my interior lights and reverse lights with the stedi brand and major improvement as I can actually see inside my car now, even changed the lights on inside the door and lights up the area when hopping into my 4wd
How good are they on the inside at night mate ?!!! I was amazed at how bright mine are too. Just need to replace the map / reading lights ( little bayonet style ) and I'll be all set. Great to see others too that are choosing not to fit due to the legalities. Cheers mate and thanks for your comments. 👍
Good video mate. I haven't installed my globes yet. I will be installing for purpose of the video but then removing and going back to Halogen. I will surely be making sure people are aware they are not legal on road and if they decide to use them it is at their own risk. The interior lights make a huge difference thats for sure.
100% mate, the interior ones are bloody awesome !!! Yeah as much as I would love brighter lights, I don't want the fine(s) ... I'd rather put that money to a nice new shiny set of factory headlight assemblies as mine have started going all dull and faded ... the cleaner kit from the big hardware only lasted 2 or 3 weeks and they've gone crap again. Thanks for your comments.
@@4WheelingInNSW yeah those lens cleaner kits are pretty average. I have used the RainX one twice now and it brings them up good but they don't last too long especially once you have been off road. I will only keep them in for the video and put the normal ones back in.
Heatsink on the globe shows better quality. Kudos for not trying the headlight globes in an unapproved vehicle. I've always been sus about different headlight globe types because the light source has to be in a specific spot to reflect off the headlight reflector for proper beam spread, blinding oncoming vehicles etc.
Exactly right mate what you’re saying. A lot of people that are in favour of them say they've done it for their own safety at night but the safety of other road users must be also considered. These globes have a rotational section that allows the beam to be focused higher or lower on the road spreading the pattern out better, however that’s self regulated so it could be dangerous to oncoming traffic if they’re not correctly adjusted. I don't want to put someone else at risk. I'd hate to know someone caused an accident on one of my family or friends and I could never live with that. Thanks for your comments mate 👍
They might be bright and all that but Grant I'm not a fan, so many times I've been blinded by an oncoming car with bloody led headlights, good interior video though
I agree with you 100% mate ... and especially when people retrofit to cars without auto adjusting capabilities and they load the boot up ( or ute tray ) with a heap of heavy stuff and now these super bright headlights are blinding koalas in the tree tops LOL ... too bloody dangerous to others on our roads. Plus the legalities of it and fines when caught using them, it's not worth it. I already give the government enough in overpriced greenslips, rego and fuel so why voluntarily contribute more via infringements ?! Not worth it. Get a good set of spotties and you're good to go. Cheers mate and thanks for your comments.
Not really a big fan on bright interior lights. I prefer my interior to be dim and private. 😉 If these LED light comes in a yellowish colour then maybe. . But I prefer my interior dark. I even turn the rear passenger and boot lights off, leaving only the front to come on when the doors are opened. The front gives enough light to illuminate the passenger compartment anyway.
Funny you say that, I used to be the same however lately when I get in the car, I could never find things in there - must be going blind with old age 🤣🤣 so I don’t mind it being nice and bright for a change, would be good though if it was a little warmer in the colour spectrum. Thanks bud 👍👍
@@4WheelingInNSW 🤣😂 Mate it could be oldage, not old age. There's big difference between the two. One relates to wear and tear due to aging, the other one is just getting old. 😂😂 But yeah, if they make LEDs that have yellow tint, I might consider it too.
Thanks for that mate.
I have got led headlights fitted to my 2010 BT I didn't know I couldn't have them.
