If a diehard punk rocker lived to the ahe of 200 years old and practiced everyday without ever sacrificing their sound and esthetic I think the resulting music would be similar to this.
Saw them about 5-6 times. Always memorable. Particularly enjoyed the night in Osaka when OOIOO performed, then sycobaba performed with yoshimi while the audience ate the buffet the band served. Closed with like 33 guitarists playing then EyE DJing. LiT
ok, weird connection, but I'm getting Devo vibes here, especially early Devo when they were really out there. edit: Ok, energy domes at the end, I'm patting myself on the back for the obvious, lol
They were opening act on the Lollapalooza 1994 tour and we were late we also missd L7 nick cave...atribe called quest... We got there on the last song of the breeders ....a real bummer we seen the next three bands George Clinton Beastie boys and the smashing pumpkins... And that was that 🙃
I think I've heard about Borerdoms the first time when I read about a US tour of them with Brutal Truth and Pain Teens. I wonder if there's any footage of that killer tour...
@@HermanWaldorfCaught that show in Seattle. Before it started, I bought a shirt from the nicest gal who turned out to be a demon behind the drum kit/trumpet later that night.
cant belive yamantaka eye made hanatarash then after being banned from every venue in japan he ended being one of the biggest influences for shoegaze music
A lot of people think they can rip things off and no one will notice. they're wrong because what makes ORIGINAL artists notable is that their style is abnormal, and abnormalcy is memorable.
Good question, one not easily answered. The Boredoms are panidiomatic, meaning their music does not exclude any genre. That said they would most likely be characterized as a kind of futuristic Noise Rock and/or Avant-Garde Punk coming from an Harsh Noise background. In this iteration they emulate a sort of chimera mixing Surf Rock and Grindcore.
Headache inducing. I really don't get it. I've been a collector of avant-garde/ obscure/ ambient and electronic (all types) for over 35 years but this would go directly in the dumpster.😮
Remember, guys. The frontman (Yamataka Eye) is the same guy that formed Hanatarash around '84 and is famous for literally drove a bulldozer in 1985.
that is why he is on Nandor Nevai's danger music channel.

Hanatarash is better than Boredoms

Wait - Boredoms made a music video? You have my full attention.
we approached them with the idea and warner brothers cleared it. 1994.
Serious? You helped to make it happen? Great video 😁
I'm sure I've seen another video by them also. It use to get played quite a bit on Mtv 120 minutes.
Yes and i wish they made more
Seriously... how am I just now finding about this after more than 20 years of stalking this band???
When you realize that this was actually structured
And it's in 3/4 2/4 and 5?

I fucking love Osaka, shit like that always seems to happen there.
2:32 the whole band posing with DEVO's energy domes, legendary
Glad you like that. DEVO loaned them.
I saw these guys open for Nirvana
one of the greatest bands that ever lived
This is what all music videos should aspire to capture
I heard this song ten years ago and it’s stuck with me this long! Thanks for posting
When you cant tell ai from human, we will still have boredom.
Whoa, this is a treat. Had no idea this existed. Thanks for the upload, Mr. Nevai.

ticklin my brain in all the right ways
Reminds me of the Punk Rock in the 70's, in spirit. As techno as this is, it bears no resemblance to AI. You can't get more human than this.
