The cockpit view with the stripes on the tank, updated gauges and beautiful triple clamp all make the bike look so beautiful and expensive ! It's all in the details !
I have a 2016 speed Triple R and have just taken delivery of the new RS and the new one runs rings around the R it's lighter, faster but has the same great handling. The key less ignition is great no worries of people nicking it as you have to be within 1 meter for it to work. All the switches are well placed and work well. I have the extra speed shifter which is also a blipper that works fantastically but I do think it should come as standard. Would I have another bike ...no this do's everything thing I want of it.
can you set an alarm with you fob? that would be a good idea with the fob i would worry with the fob as people have the fob scanners now what increase the signal for 1m to 30m so thats not good
I think the bike is awesome. The power, the sound, the looks. Only the quickshifter and the small windscreen are options... they should be on the bike standard
I have the 2016 Speedy R and I have yet to demo the RS but I'm sure it's amazing. Personally I prefer the Speed over the Street, not for the extra power but because a like a slightly heavier planted bike. The Street for me is a bit edgy. The market for the Speedy, as you touched on is the person who probably has one bike and wants quality, smooth progressive power in a great all round bike that does everything. For me it's closest rival has to be the Ducati Monster 1200S. The Tuono, Superduke, S1000R and MT10 are a step up again in power and essentially an upright super sports bike. Would I buy another Speedy, yes it's a great bike but I do like the idea of owning a Superduke. For me it's also the emotional buy and pride of ownership couple with owning a different ride. Who knows maybe I might even by an RS1200 one day, maybe not a Harley.
maybe not a harley i emphasise on that one, i think pride of ownership is massive, and no matter what you like that should always be the foremost thing when buying a bike, like you say all super nakeds are pretty mad as it is so its more down to what your getting for your money and if you love it
Really nice review bud, I have one being delivered on Sunday. I did a test ride of both the street rs and speed rs and went with the speed for the reasons Dougie mentioned - I prefer the weight and size and this will be my only bike so it made sense for me. I did think the street sounded better (or I got it to sound better at the speeds I was doing around central london). But can't wait for Sunday!! I'm trading in a XDiavel S so it'll be a big change :)
I have a 2019 speed trip RS and let me say the quick shifter makes all the difference so much faster it seems just crack it back and haul ass you should ride another one with the "shift assist" installed
Nakeds are the new sports bikes. I’d love one in the garage, but I’d definitely not get away with it! I have keyless ignition and locking on my car. I just keep the key in my pocket and never even think about it.
Beautiful bike and I agree with you on the keyless ignition but if the bike was in range with the key and someone stole it I'm sure it will cut out after a certain distance
The range of the key is like 1 or 1,5 metres so no way someone would just steal it without you noticing it. I think it's great and even greater is the fact that the steering lock is keyless too. Many bikes have keyless ignition but it's kind of useless if you have to use the key to lock/unlock the steering anyway...
So what would you advise? Thruxton R with a Track racer kit is better for riding at legal speeds? Btw I know well it is the looks that really turned you off about this bike. Extremely important parameter on a very personal gadget: Looks!
Bugrahan Cilsal I mean it’s down to the individual, the torque is nuts so you don’t really get chance to ring its neck which I like doing, some people may like that aspect id say the street triple 765 R and RS are the best street legal speed bikes , I’ve not ridden a thruxton and don’t really like the looks so can’t really comment on them Hope that helps
TremourSphere I think something aesthetically different so that it looked different to last couple of years. The lights, pipes and may be the shape of the tank. If it wasn't for the TFT screen, for an average, it looks exactly the same as 2016-2017 model.
yeah i agree really, to keep up with the looks of the other super nakeds i think its lacking in that department compared to a superduke or an aprillia they are changing yearly on appearance
I’m looking for a comfortable, powerful, Naked bike with lots of features. Have a test ride of the speed triple RS, but I am also considering a Tuono factory. Here in Canada the Tuono is slightly cheaper. Which would you consider? My riding is a 5 min commute to work during the week, and weekends spent on motorways going for 100kms city to city, and around town. Thanks for you input. Great videos, subscribed!
I have never had a litre bike before. I love the weight of the Street RS. I can’t understand why they don’t throw in a quick shifter or use that PDA dash for Sat Nav as well. Surely the tech must be there. I am going to have a butchers at one this afternoon if only to listen to it’s raw lol 😆
What i would really like is an up and down shifter on the RS. Sat on the Speed and it felt nice. It is much bigger and after dropping a heavier bike i am put off a little. However i think i should just give it a go and book up a test ride soon :)
Got to say, ridden it twice, you need to ride it when engine is run in and in race mode no assistance then......compare to the overpriced bigger powered inevitable v4 and give a real experienced opinion. It’s a different beast....bravo Triumph.
Tris Huckle well thats the point of a 'first ride review/impressions' ive ridden a v4 tuono so can compare them aswell? Had about 4 rides on one of these at this point. If you want a very experienced in depth 20 hours in the saddle and on track test go watch a bike magazine not a small channel i guess is your awnser?
It seems different dealers r putting Wat they think sells different models. Then one I rode today had up quick shifter ( fitted standard) cruise control ( fitted standard) down shifter fitted ( £300 extra)
I have one .The Quick shifter on the Speedy has an Autoblipper & costs 300 pounds +fitting you can haggle with your dealer to get it put on your bike. A Quick Shifter is not standard on this bike ,but the cruse control is.
Great bike love the toys great bike to ride so i bought it kicking🇬🇧 quick bhifter great keyless brilliant know that is a fun bike love it hopefully i can keep my licence and i wish with mark ups and upgrades it was 11 grand 🧐
dale 8754 I never did a review because my camera died but I did ride a 2018 mt09 and I thought it was bloody awful, I really hated it, this bike absolutely destroys it. I know the sp is more geared up with suspension and brakes but this bikes still better imo
Too much electronic crap. Keyless doesn't appeal to me either. I'd rather more top end power out of a 1050cc engine than a bunch of electronic dependencies. However, I wouldn't mind having one because of the comfort and torque. I'd have to rip a lot off of it and clean it up a bit but overall it's a nice bike.
the fact you'd have to modify it for the price it costs probably indicates it aint the bike for you. personally it rides amazing and its a good bike but the overall ascetics dont appeal to me and the fact they said 'it dosen't need a quick shifter' is total bollocks for a bike of this price. thats my raw opinion
Well I had a 2009 S3 and loved riding it. But I don't like the headlight assembly whatsoever. Or the exhaust. Other than those two eye sores I like the bike a lot. I agree with you 100% that any bike of that price range ought to come with every option on the market: wheels, suspension, QS, you name it. I found when I had my 09' I always wanted a sport bike to accompany it in the garage. Like, the S3 was fun 90% of the time but it lacked top end to me. Ideally I'd like a sport bike and the 2016 Speed Triple in the garage. A man can dream lol.
Oddjob6120 congrats man that’s awesome! Pretty jealous! That’s nice they threw in a free quickshifter. I recently called about an “out the door” price on the speed RS and it went from 16,350 to 20k here in the states. So I’ll be getting the 2019 street triple RS instead haha, enjoy!
The more i see this bike the more its becoming my dream bike, the looks are really growing on me.
EskiLdn does look cool just too bulky for that front end imo
EskiLdn that’s how it gets you. Stop looking or you’re done.
EskiLdn
So, take a look at this guy driving skills... ua-cam.com/video/3TidgQlXC1M/v-deo.html
pro trick : watch movies on flixzone. Been using it for watching loads of movies recently.
The cockpit view with the stripes on the tank, updated gauges and beautiful triple clamp all make the bike look so beautiful and expensive ! It's all in the details !
it is indeed

colin logue sounds great

Striple agreed
triumph confirmed when i got back to the shop it DOES NOT have a quickshifter. You are thinking of the Street triple RS
I have the 2016 Speedy R and I have yet to demo the RS but I'm sure it's amazing. Personally I prefer the Speed over the Street, not for the extra power but because a like a slightly heavier planted bike. The Street for me is a bit edgy. OldManTony thats pretty awesome
I find all gearboxes take a while to loosen up. My SuperDuke only really started to perform after 6k miles.
Beautiful bike and I agree with you on the keyless ignition but if the bike was in range with the key and someone stole it I'm sure it will cut out after a certain distance
Ooh and have you done a first ride on a H2
yeah i would hope so. theirs just alot of loop holes in my mind. im a bit old fashioned with how i like bikes to work
The key fob has a built in ability to decrease the radio frequency range to less than 1 meter. That way they key has to be on the bike to work.
Your opinion at the end is on point. This bike is beautifull but the normal driver will get more out of a street triple and safe money
awesome bike , has not got a bad review . Just wish there were more colour options .
yeah would be nice

Ah man. You missed some belter roads. Should of gone straight on at 10:56
The bike is amazing, I wish they had done some physical changes too.
what would you have liked?
TremourSphere I think something aesthetically different so that it looked different to last couple of years. The lights, pipes and may be the shape of the tank.

Uncle Ben thank you mate, personally id say the tuono is the best naked ive ridden
Thanks. Gonna see if I can’t get a test ride of a Tuono as well. Figure the best thing is to ride both then decide.
HJM1974 yeah the soundtrack is pretty mint for it mate, and those were my thoughts too
What i would really like is an up and down shifter on the RS. Sat on the Speed and it felt nice. It is much bigger and after dropping a heavier bike i am put off a little. However i think i should just give it a go and book up a test ride soon :)
HJM1974 i didnt find it much heavier then my 600rr, weight was pretty good, needed more goodies for the money
Beast bike, also love the looks
OneSgos was rather fun!
Great video! What is the intro song? It's awesome.
Kodreanu23 its a backing track by elevated jam tracks
Looks faster than the street rs. Nice bike.
vacantrider it really is

Worth the upgrade over the street rs?
YourCousinLiam street rs all day long
TremourSphere hopefully some turbo kits come out for the 765 then.
YourCousinLiam dont need it mate plenty of power for the road honestly, if you want top end may aswell buy a 1000 sports bike
TremourSphere bad wrists from an accident. I'll be waiting for a V4 ducati monster or an updated S1000r
Great bike love the toys great bike to ride so i bought it kicking🇬🇧 quick bhifter great keyless brilliant know that is a fun bike love it hopefully i can keep my licence and i wish with mark ups and upgrades it was 11 grand 🧐
im torn between mt09sp or this triump arghh dunno
dale 8754 I never did a review because my camera died but I did ride a 2018 mt09 and I thought it was bloody awful, I really hated it, this bike absolutely destroys it. I know the sp is more geared up with suspension and brakes but this bikes still better imo
Just subbed you great review need to blare that speedo 😂😂😂
Hahah it’ll be reet. Cheers for the sub!
Need a throttle wire..
If you can speak while accelerating hard,it’s not fast enough, but it’s a great bike, but for me I would need something more brutal.
SuperJacobe couldn’t with the tuono 1100 tbh
I couldn't disagree more with your review, been on two speed triple RS's and both were fantastic bike's.
Not sure why you felt the need to explain the difference in people’s opinions but okay.

can't we all haha i love my sportsbike i think i would really struggle to find a bike that would take it away even the race spec tuono would struggle
See i thought it was standard with quick shifter up and down?? I guess not..hmmm...gay...loved the review.
thanks man
Oddjob6120 congrats man that’s awesome! Pretty jealous! That’s nice they threw in a free quickshifter. I recently called about an “out the door” price on the speed RS and it went from 16,350 to 20k here in the states. So I’ll be getting the 2019 street triple RS instead haha, enjoy!
