    The way he tied it all together at the end was utterly amazing. By explaining it the way he did, he detaches the aura of impossibility. The stories of an advanced civilization are told by those who are able to survive it, usually hunter gatherers that appear to be undeveloped but are skillful at survival. That would also explain why there are drawings of highly advanced machines in the caves of ancient civilizations. This is an amazing video

      Hancock is very good, because he seeks Truth. But avoid the cult of personality, for it is ALWAYS a death cult in the end - as Trumpists are demonstrating for the world to see right now. ("Why do you call me good? None is good but one, which is God." - Yeshua One with Christ.) Today's modern societies are like sand castles built on a beach. And in their arrogance and prejudice men are calling in the high tide. This teacher and prophet of God knows that Atlantis was a fact. And I know that the United States is neo-Atlantis in its last days. But it's all good in the end. if you want to know WHY, you are in the minority amongst today's vacuous and self-absorbed mentalities. And you will read my book...

    7:30 Graham missed one key point on this discussion of where agriculture "first appeared". While archaeology may not yet have enough information to tell us WHERE and BY WHOM each major agricultural crop was discovered, genetic mapping does offer a window into the "age" of a particular crop (assuming you have access to information on the precursor species). That is to say, if we are able to identify the wild ancestor of our current food crop, we can use mutability ratios and statistical analysis to give us an approximate idea of when the wild ancestor first began to be cultivated artificially.
    The data suggest that wheat, barley, oats and rice, as well as pulses such as dahl, chickpeas, and lentils - are crops that first branched off from a wild ancestor about 8~10,000 years ago. In other words, genetic sequencing confirms the idea that these crops were developed in either Egypt, Mesopotamia, the Indus Valley or China at some time soon after the construction of Gobekli Tepe.
    The problem is that crops in the Americas show signs of having been cultivated FAR earlier. Biologists are not even CERTAIN which wild Central American plant was the ancestor of maize (corn). There is a subspecies of Zea mays called "Teosinte" (Zea mays spp. parviglumis), which is clearly related, and grows wild. However, the genetic analysis suggests that both plants branched off from a common ancestor (now extinct), perhaps as long as 15,000 years ago. There has been comparatively less research done on "New World" crops, but the sheer variety and genetic diversity of potatoes, beans, tomatoes and yams suggest a similarly ancient origin.
    And then we have the banana.
    Not only is it unclear when humans began eating bananas, but the relationship between the two is inextricably close. Bananas do not have seeds. This means that the only way for bananas to propagate is for humans to carry live banana shoots from place to place artificially, clear a suitable place for them, and then cultivate them regularly. And yet - though they probably lost the ability to produce seeds quite some time ago (banana residue on 6000 year-old pots shows that they had already gone seedless) - various species of banana or plantain can be found on every continent except Antarctica! The only way for them to get there was via human propagation, across vast oceans!
    To make the situation even more confusing, nobody can even hazard a guess about what the original wild ancestor was like. Plantains (a subspecies) do have seeds, but since plantains are almost as widely distributed worldwide as seedless bananas, it is obvious that they had been cultivated for a LOOONG time before they lost their seeds. The obvious conclusion is that our "lost civilization" had already mastered agriculture (including such species as banana, breadfruit and root crops like taro, yam and potato. Perhaps even an early type of maize). However, even if they had managed to salvage seeds/shoots after the fall of Atlantis, when they settled in the (relatively colder and drier) great "Fertile Crescent" sites of Eurasia , the old crops would not grow well in the new environment. The people had to look for new plant species to "domesticate", and agriculture based on these new species would seem to "appear out of nowhere" in 8~10,000 BC .

    • @k-matsu
      @k-matsu 3 роки тому +28

      @@mozy106 There is no question in my mind that humans have possessed a high level of civilization and advanced technology, in ages past. The evidence speaks for itself, so the existence of the technology is a bit difficult to refute.
      Now ... Lots of people have lots of theories about how the "physical evidence" actually came to be where it is. Some want to believe that it was "imported" from some other planet. Graham seems to lean towards the idea that humans figured things out for themselves ... they just did so a few more times than our current records (the so-called "history of mankind") happen to account for. I tend to agree.
      The modern human brain is just as powerful as it was 10,000 years ago. No more so, but no less so. Consequently, we HAVE TO assume that ancient people could draw the same inferences from first-hand observation that we do, today.
      So let's think about it:
      Start with agriculture. Im no hunter-gatherer, but even with very little experience, Ive noted new food crops sprouting up from places where I threw seeds or parts of plants, a few weeks earlier. It took me just milliseconds to make the connection.
      So ask yourself -- with roughly 250,000 years to work with (even presuming Neanderthals were too dumb to make the inference), how long do you think it would take before a group of PROFESSIONAL hunter-gatherers figured out how to replant the food crops they were "gathering"? Do you really think it would have taken 246,000 years?
      Same with many other technologies. Man has had fire for as long as he has been Homo sapiens. Would it really take half-a-million years before they started to note the existence of things like metal or glass? Are we sure primitive man didnt have metal? or is it possible that it just all rusted into powder over 10,000+ years?
      Graham is on the right track, I think, but he is far too cautious in his speculation about the "Atlantean" civilization. There is ample evidence to show that some sort of advanced civilization existed. We need a new postulate

    • @mozy106
      @mozy106 3 роки тому +7

      @@k-matsu There is clearly a major digital censoring of information taking place right now. We've lost some of the great libraries in recent wars and the whole Alien thing is embedded into Hollywood and modern day 'entertainment'.

Its very easy to find ood information as to why it is a natural feature but if he goes back on the this a whole section of his docuseries falls apart. he never addresses things that he was wrong about e just selectively leaves them out of his story like the yonaguni monument.
      One example where Graham Hancock has been criticized for being selective with his evidence is in his book "Fingerprints of the Gods" in which he argues that an ancient civilization existed prior to the end of the last ice age, and that this civilization influenced the development of many of the world's cultures. He presents a number of pieces of evidence to support his theory, including similarities between the architecture and engineering of ancient structures in different parts of the world, and similarities in the myths and legends of different cultures.
      Critics have pointed out that many of the similarities he cites can be explained by common human ingenuity and cultural diffusion, and that he ignores or downplays evidence that contradicts his theory. For instance, he has been accused of selectively interpreting the data from the ancient site of Giza in Egypt to support his claims of a lost civilization. He emphasizes some similarities between the pyramids and other ancient sites across the world, but doesn't take into account evidence that suggests that the pyramids were built by the ancient Egyptians using their own technology and knowledge.

      @@AIenSmithee Now Then. Without going into greater details. G Hancock is a journalist who spent a lot of time researching Ancient civilisations. His theory of great catastrophe finding lot of confirmation in recent studies. I will not say he is right in every corner of the story but some of his conclusions slowly showing that he might be on right path. His job as he says it is to highlight the issues for open discussion about his (and others) findings. Mainstream scientist are close community and their dogmatism looks no different to me like religious dogmatism. Science is treated like a religion by them where no one in the club should dear to question official narrative. I wouldn’t call him a liar at all. And indeed some of his theories turned up being wrong. All is needed is an open conversation about it and question everything as well as looking at things from all angles of the story. To me it’s impossible that hunter-gatherer in no time went from hunting wild animals straight onto pyramid building. It would be like medieval society build space rocket straight after finishing Notre Dame Cathedral. I don’t think it has. I don’t think you know what you are talking about and you are just parroting what Hancock has said. How is Hancock a trader? He's considered the enemy by the mainstream. All of these people on the fringe have 1 thing in common. They want us to know the truth. But some of them are real scientists so they go by the evidence available to them. In his case.....he thinks it was the comet. There really was 1 and thats what they'll use to in the end to destract from the truth that something else happened as well.
      I think the easiest way to explain it is to point out that the earth is wider at the equator. As is all other planets that we have managed to measure. It's like a ball of playdo. As it spins it becomes wider. It must be corrected or it would turn into a disc. Our galaxy has a way of correcting it. Thats why the planets stay spherical. This cycle comes every 12,000 years....give or take 1,000 years. It's allready being witnessed in other solar systems.
      The world leaders know this. They just wanna make sure they make it through it and that will be much harder if all of us know. They've hidden as many of the historical accounts from us as possible as well as covered up as much of the evidence of it as possible. It's incredible when your beliefs are assured by a simple map where it shows proofs of the continents and old civilizations.

Irresponsibility instead of Responsibility all to serve the rampant consumerism pushed by the Corporations to get instant gratification. There is no We or US anymore just me me me me. The extreme individualistic self importance. Style over substance. There is only shouting match between different groups intent on beating down the other group instead of having a rational discussion. I find it a big turnoff, as well as when I see an attractive woman light up a cigarette. I invasion kissing her would be like putting my mouth in a dirty ash tray. I use to us foul language indiscriminately and smoke. Belive me I know how hard it is to change. It was due to people that cared about me and continuously commented on my self destructive behavior that I began too make some change, 🐌 I discovered that the pain doesn't actually come from chang. It's resisting the needed change where the pain lies in.

Well with using those tools it’s impossible to cut granite like a kitchen countertop. Graham suggests that they used other advanced tools that we don’t know about and archeologists refuse that opinion and say no it’s the tools we find from those times so those tools must be the way they cut the rock. So have we found actual evidence of these advanced tools ? No but are we looking ? No, we have stopped looking because they think they already have the answers. You can ask anyone that works with kitchens and granite. What the Egyptians did, we can’t do even with the best diamond blades. Nor have we ever replicated at least ONE block. But he's right about the general idea that civilization is older than we think, more advanced longer ago than we think. We find new examples here and there. A lot of his specific claims about specific sites and dates and technologies have been debunked though. But I like the guy and his mission and his storytelling.

      @@yamexq Yeah I suspect Hancock is right about some of this, about having civilization in some places earlier than we thought possible, but I doubt it's on the scale he suggests. One problem is that some of his claims are not falsifiable - they might be correct, but we'll never know because he's said previously that glaciers pulverized most of whatever direct evidence the skeptics ask to see. So we need a lot of indirect evidence.
      One of my problems is the graph of average air temperatures over the past 20 thousand years or so. I think he proposes there was a big civilization that ended with floods at the end of the Younger Dryas when things warmed up. Before that the planet was in a brief return to glacial climate, and before that we were in an erratic period of rapid warming and cooling over a few thousand years (Bølling and Allerød periods), and beyond 15 thousand years ago we were in long ice age. If a great civilization were to take hold, they need to develop their culture (technology, construction, agriculture, etc) rather quickly in whatever niches on the planet were supportive and stable, before these great catastrophes occurred. If he has more specific ideas I've missed about when/where/how the 12+ KYA advanced civilization got its foothold, I'd like someone out there to point me to it because I'm curious and I'm not trying to be a skeptic for the sport of it.
      A random example of a more detailed thing I've taken issue with is his idea that Gaza mirrors the sky. When I looked into this further it seemed dubious that there was even an intention to mirror Orion. The belt bends in the wrong direction, and the Nile is on the wrong side of the pyramids if the river is supposed to mirror the Milky Way. IIRC he might still be right about the Sphinx marking the celestial age of the lion (my memory is fuzzy on this) but he's sloppy about a lot of the geometric / alignment claims he makes about that site and other sites.
      Anyway, I don't know why I often write such long comments like this under his videos, but I find the whole topic interesting. There's debate about whether Hancock is a charlatan or not, and I don't think he is. I just think he takes a lot of liberty in his hypotheses and a lot of his criticism of stubbornness of "mainstream" archeology is not fair. OTOH I don't think he should be outcast. They need to adjust their temperaments halfway, like Hancock should be a bit more restrained and people like Zahi Hawass should loosen up and be more openminded.

      I don't actually care if he is right or not (though he's made a compelling case for me on many points). I care that he makes us question and think and look at all the pieces of the puzzle with fresh eyes in different ways and see new connections we didn't notice before. I believe that part is actually more important. The tired old answer "everything we dig up is a temple or a tomb" is in desperate need of a fresh look, and some of the assumptions the current paradigm embraces are simply absurd. Our ancient ancestors deserve more respect than they've gotten from our 'modern" society.

      The ability continues into the internet age and the fantastical stories & videos on UA-cam about “lost civilizations,” “unexplainable mysteries” and “ancient high technology" put out by profit seeking book authors like Graham Hancock, Brien Foerster, UnchartedX and others like them are the proof.
      Just like the older hoaxes, the vast majority of people who fall for them simply can't help themselves. They are drawn to them like a moth to a flame and can't bring themselves to watch any scholarly produced lectures or other educational information that threatens to debunk what gets them excited and thereby spoil the fun and excitement they get out of believing in the stories being spread by the UA-cam mystery mongers...and so they will look away from that information and/or attack the people who point out their mistake in judgment.
