While I personally love the scratch logo, I’m starting to love the modern sleek version. The scratch logo symbolized heated Monday Night Wars and WWF needing more “attitude” to compete. It also symbolizes the decision to show more hardcore, profanity, etc. Suitable until Ruthless Aggression because WWE emerged and continued proving why they’re on top. That era is long over and the current PG (less hardcore) experience (plus WWE’s innovations/ventures outside wrestling itself) is definitely not represented by that scratch look. The new logo looks more professional, still relevant in the next years, and its use is very versatile. From a designer perspective, I find the scratch logo exciting for PPV’s but not something I want to use for a letterhead if I want to reach out to sponsors lmao.
The 2002-2014 logo is one of the best logos I've ever seen not just in WWE but comparing it to all the other entertainment brands. And it looked even better on the world championship belt.
The current WWE logo looks like shit, it looks like somebody from Cartoon Network or Disney made it. The old white and red chicken scratch logo was fine the way it was, there was no need to change it.
