Yes i was pleasantly surprised when i tried it with that Wildcat Panther moderator which is also in .17 cal, i don't think its much louder than the .22 mag rim fire i used to have.
Hi David I have to agree with Garry Foot trails through the wet grass to and from your prey item to your hide These are the smartest of British birds, they learn fast, mimic, and are able to be taught to talk, don't underestimate the quarry my friend, and I don't think you do They are clever compared to most I did enjoy the content as always and the honest commentaries. Take care, stay safe, regards to your family and keep it lit 👍 my friend.
Yes I've always thought my foot steps would stand out a mile from the air but unless i set out the bait and decoy the night before and hope nothing eats it before the morning there's not much i can do, even if i walk away from the hide after setting out the bait and double back along the hedge row I'll still leave foot steps for the birds to see.
Another great video Dave. Do you think that sometimes a slow start can be due to the clear tracks In the early dew leading to and from the hide area, ? That said not sure what the answer to that would be as even if you took a roundabout approach the tracks would still be there. 🤔 I guess it's just a case of just waiting till the dew burns off. Anyway as ever enjoyed your content 😎👍
Hiya bud another good video as always I do look forward to seeing a video from either of your channel's, I know that you have used this rabbit as bait routine for a long time and it does work but have you tried doing a baiting pattern spread over a number of days of even a week or two with out of date bread or meat trimmings from the butchers most butchers have a box behind the counter somewhere with the meaty bits they trim off and bones and they normally have to pay to get rid of this as waste iv used boxes of meat trimmings for baiting corvids in the past and it also helps the birds of prey in the area but iv found that having no set number of days for the bird's to learn a pattern works best iv used this method at times of the year when the corvids are more of a problem than others but it does work year round and can be a good little tactic, anyway sorry if it seems like I'm telling you how to suck eggs an all as always pal keep up the great work and happy hunting
Oh no your OK hay its a great suggestion and one i have been thinking about but more for fox control as in some places here there are so many people out after foxes (drive by foxing from the road side that is) that the foxes can be quiet lamp shy so a baiting station should work well for both fox and crow but most of the time i only get a call out of the blue about a problem with no time to prepare a baiting area.
@@NitroHV try to build a rapor with a butchers they normally do a box a day with meat trimmings etc I'm in Pembrokeshire West Wales and my local Nisa shop has an in-house butchers and bakery and on certain days when they are doing chicken's I can get a big box of chicken carcasses and trimmings etc etc for a couple of pounds I freeze some so Iv always got some I picked up an older freezer just for my dogs raw feed and times when I haven't had a chance to get to the butchers, using the meat trimmings etc is also a good way to see some of the beautiful birds of prey in your area which in turn brings in the corvids, Iv gone and fed areas before to build the confidence up in the birds and Iv found it works really well and if they don't clear an Mr Charlie or Broc will over night and it builds a general pattern that you can learn with the aid of trail camera's, anyway sorry for long comments pal give it a try and experiment with it

David, I am impressed how quiet your 177 varmint centre fire is compared to 177 HMR!

Its very possible especially on a frosty morning as those foot prints are bound to stand out a mile from the air.
Good stuff as usual..
Much appreciated.
What scope camera you using?
Its the Tactacam 5.0 and FTS Unit.

That darker crow might have been a carrion crow hybrid.
Do you see carrion crows in your area?
Its possible though i think i might have only seen one carrion crow in my life here in Northern Ireland.
💪💪👍👍👏👏
Thank you.
u need a drone with a pick up claw...
A good dog that doesn't mind sitting still for hours on end in a hide would be great.
