LUI-ABC, the low-cost quadruped robot for research and education

  • I'm proud to share my project from the scientific initiation scholarship at CNPq with my university, UFABC. This is my first demonstration of LUI-ABC, one of the first quadruped robots designed for educational and research projects for schools and universities, available for free as open-source software and hardware. Due to the increasing relevance of legged robots nowadays, such as ANYmal C from ANYbotics, used in offshore inspections by Petrobras, the main goals of this research are to improve robotics and control studies by developing a low-cost quadruped robot that is easy to replicate with common components, such as custom 3D-printed parts, off-the-shelf electronic components, and open code.
