- In a repeat of last year's Champions Cup Final, La Rochelle retained their title but with reports of scuffles at half time with the bad blood then spilling over after the final whistle blew what really happened in Dublin?

Loved the game, even though My team were on the loosing side. It had EVERYTHING. It was clash of styles, systems, regions, cultures and titans. Each never more deserving of being there. Two of the best sets of fans. The spice will merely gave a bit more encouragement to each ensure they are in the rematch next year. Good luck to any who try to get in the way of that.

European championship cup rugby is the best competition… it’s so good, so much happens. I just live for it 😂 I mean you literally have a bunch of European clubs absolutely smash each other apart.. some of the best rugby I’ve seen too, and so much drama. The final was one of the best games I’ve seen too!!
European rugby is like watching WWE if you don't understand that it's a show you would believe it's real . Southern hemisphere rugby is real challenge as it's deferent countries domestic best clubs competing no foreign players or coaching just local.

@@Nieljoycenielyes problem was that NZ thought they were the only stars of Southern hemisphere rugby not considering SA influence in their development and it's massive fan base. European competition will only improve SA local players more then European international mix teams.

As a South African and life long Stormers fan, this last weekend's final is as good as, if not better, than any SR final I have seen. And this includes the Brumbies-Crusaders era of finals, the Sharks-Bulls game, etc.
But if nothing else, Championship Cup rugby is going up, and SR is on its way down.
As a Leinster fan.. I can't THANK south africans enough for coming up here and bringing your talent, making our competition and league better... plus you fans are as passionate as ours. Really great addition and while we may be rivals, and say nasty things.. deep down EVERYONE here in Ireland LOVES that you have decided to come up. Its made the game better, south africans are the true rugby gods lets be honest... NZ I'm sure will always have your respect but SA is where its at!!

Agreed 👍. I'm a little biased with Cruz games, so I look at the Brumbies vs Cruz 2000 final as the pinnacle event for SR finals intensity etc, but Leinster vs La Rochelle was at least the equal but likely bests it

All the Refs are safe before and after games here i Ireland 🇮🇪 . Your mate Barnes is not any irish teams favourite ref. But he goes out here in Munster after games now and then and is treated fantastic by us .. we are rugby people and leave it on the pitch.

On the whole leinster gave a poor image of themselves, it seems the LR players familles were not really welcome either and the worst thing was the booing that seemed to be directed at an inconscious Colombe, i hope it wasn't because it really looked atrocious...like they didn't have a care in the world how badly he was injured, they just wanted the ref to look the other way
Booting was due to people initially thinking it was another LR time waste which they'd been at all game. The second the stretcher was called it changed. As for the coin toss LR's account of how that went has been proven to be totally untrue
Not impressed with Leinsters lack of composure on and off the pitch,whatever transpired,however, you can blame the ERC for the lack of organisation around the visitors and their families.They take charge from the semi final stage.

Glad to hear you guys talk about the behaviour of the Leinster Machine off the pitch. For years they have not just controlled the ball, the game and the score line but they have controlled the narrative pre and post game in the media, they have controlled the IRFU decisions and as you’ve just pointed out they can actually control the decision as to whether an incident should be replayed on television or in the stadium. With the attitude at the end of and after this game maybe people will start to realise that the Leinster Machine needs a good old service and all the new parts that have been added since the bandwagon started rolling in 2009 need to be removed. The old Leinster fans were amazing, strange accents but great craic, proper Rugby Fans. The new cohort are a different breed. Abuse the opposition team, the opposition fans, the refs and anyone who might come in the way of the win at all costs Leinster Army. I’m not a fan, in case that wasn’t clear 🤣.

He is vying for a bigger international coaching job longterm - he has never switched off on this. Andy Farrell is staying - period. He can do a Warren Gatland with Wales job on it. ROG should give it a rest, we're tired hearing it

Personally thought the ref wasn't great and imo favoured LR slightly but I am biased..Regardless the better team won . Any team that comes back from 17-0 down away from home more than deserves the win. Too many salty fans ATM . Take our licks and move on

The ref gave decisions in a way of letting la Rochelle back into the game at 17-0 down and then continued to do so for the rest of the match apart from the Alatoa red card that was a moment of stupidity by the leinster player

First Leinster try came from JGP creating an obstruction from the lineout . Don’t know what you’re smoking
The role of match officials and especially referees remains overbearing, and this was even truer with Jaco Peyper who was worse than Wayne Barnes last year.
1. Alldritt illegally slapped the ball from Jamison Gibson-Park, when the TMO did not intervene;
2. Jimmy O’Brien was wrongly pinged for his aerial challenge, denying Leinster a rare attacking platform in the second period.
3. Andrew Porter having been pinged for scrummaging “on the angle”, Joel Sclavi wasn’t when helping Tawera Kerr-Barlow win a vital 67th-minute turnover before
4. Caelan Doris was wrongly penalised when poaching for the ball as Quentin Lespiaucq Brettes dived off his feet.
5. Cue three lineouts and penalties later (one wrongly against Ronan Kelleher when Sclavi simply fell), to the winning try and yellow card for Ronan Kelleher.

You guys just want to blame the ref 😂! Rather than admitting that La Rochelle just outplayed Leinster during those 80 minutes, Leinster played well during 20 minutes. Jaco Peyper has given a lot of freedom to the Leinster players in the ruck during the whole game! But at the end they just last! Bring on 2024! 😂😂😂😂
