I'm on HOLIDAY without my normal studio setup, but I thought I'd save people 2 hours of their time summarizing the big bits of the dev stream! Enjoy your summer!
I'm always surprised by the about of fluff and problems they run across during their livestreams. It definitely does not give people a good impression sadly. Even spending 30 mins beforehand to iron out the issues would have made a difference. And PLAN it. Not just winging it.
I was not watching anyone else's update. Just this trusted source. That new tutorial system looks good. So does that crate. The new console edition does not need to worry about selling it as a new version. Skyrim, Mass Effect, and many other titles have gone from the original console up to Next Gen, and you have to pay for the new version. TFP's should not worry about it. I bout Skyrim for PS3, PS4, bought Game of the Year, Special Edition, but I did not buy the Anniversary edition. Each 'new' version had to be bought, and had no discount based on ownership of the previous version.
Respectfully, just because someone else has gotten away ripping off their fans, is not a good excuse (for me). As a console player, it nakedly looks like they are trying to make all of their money off of console. after 10 years I don't believe there is this huge base of PC players who are still holding out. That market is tapped. They have been saying for two years they are looking into a discount for legacy console, but, all they have found is excuses. They SOLD the console version for the money to keep making this game for PC. Telltale going under was a blessing for them. This was their second highest selling game...that's why TFP bought the rights back...suddenly they saw all the money they left on the table just trying to get runway to keep working on the PC version. It was not because they wanted to someday make it right for console and console players. Can you honestly say they have not been "dumbing down" the survival and concentrating on making this a FPS? almost like they are aiming to half ass everyone in the pursuit of a payday and an exit strategy. We are all paying for their "learning curve".
@@dannydaye9449well ea ripped people's off all the time, and Bethesda who keeps re-release skyrim every single time is a considerable ripped off. This pretty much not the only company. Ea is the worse. Sale sims4 plus all content thats sale over 1k over. that's ripped off itself.
Trader progression rewards being nerfed is such a relief. I always felt overpowered when I used it, or like an idiot for not using it. Now we can focus on actual crafting, trading and looting again.
I have a few wishes currently for 7D2D. 1: Improved mele combat. Something like State of decay would be Amazing! 2: Fix the damn drone. I love her but she is annoying and always in the way. 2a: I assume helicopters are in the works since there are helipads 3: Pickup anything. Don’t understand why I can’t pickup a chair or storage box that I put down 4: More weapon variance. Wtf do I do with all that .44 mag ammo? 5: upgrade vehicles to increase storage like the drone That’s enough for now. lol!
You know, I watched the Dev stream and all I learned is that the FP's need to hire a publicist and MadMole likes to include weird fetish stuff in his camera view. This version was way more informative.
I wonder if they will fix the bug where certain things are not synched, like other players not showing they're crouching(been years and many alphas). Also, will they finally turn dropped items into their actual models or will they still use their generic "bag o crap" to represent things lol.
I am glad you touched on that crossplay BS. Got to admit... using sound to fool the mind is smart. works on fools and gives them more time to not fix those things. lol
@@Vedui42 when they announced a month ago, they said that crossplay works (on their end) and is ready to be implemented (pending MS and Sony permissions) it sounded like a done deal... they even made it a part of their road map. This stream gave me the impression that they over promised again. That they are preparing people for platform restricted play...not crossplay.
It has already been implemented. But for it to work in production systems, Sony and playstation must provide approval :) If either says no, then at most it'll crossplay with PC. I suspect microsoft will say yes, playstation no.
@@Vedui42 i am confused...how is it implemented in practical terms if there is no crossplay enabled by the platforms themselves? there is no way to prove or disprove that is true...we just have to trust TFP.
Hi Danny. I'd assume their development setup allows for testing things like crossplay in a more open fashion. So when they say its working I'd imagine they've tested console to pc working fine, however can not enable it in a version players can buy until approvals are given. :)

The netcode is ... not terribly sophisticated I suspect. Enough to work as a pve game but that's about it.

Hm how does it take them years for such small patches. Night of the dead has a smaller studio and is is patching and updating so frequently
