I used to do float fishing for years on lake superior tributaries then I stopped fishing all together. Got into other things. Now that I retired I'm thinking of getting back into fishing again. It's great to see you guys wading in the creek having fun catching fish. Great video, thanks for sharing.
where do you guys get your beads :) you make casting the pin look effortless I need lessons or maybe make a video on how you do it? Great video thanks for taking the time for all of us to enjoy.
Chad or Daniel, when you setup with 2 beads, you stated that you use a " Duncan loop"? First, you are placing the loop the opposite end from lure on tag end side but how do you attach the loop to the other hook? I guess I'm confused! I've used it on fly tying etc but not the way you are using it? Are you doing a loop to loop connection so you can change out the bottom fly, lure etc? Thanks Guys I appreciate it very much! Also, please have a blessed Thanksgiving !
@@TheSpeyfisher We use the loop to attach the bottom leader and dropper bead to our upper hook. We also use the same loop to attach our top leader to a snap swivel below our sliding float. Hope that makes sense.
We don't drag the bottom much but it is similar to bobber dogging. Some shallower runs will drag and then straiten up as it gets deeper. We just want to be ticking bottom off and on to make sure we are on bottom. The nice thing is you can bobber dog as well.
Are you guys still running Closer blanks? Looks like different weight blanks... You guys are doing better than me.. When I run straight braid I break leaders and have more tear outs...
We are using CTS blanks mostly. Randy is using a closer in the video. We are using 10lb leader up to 17ln for Steelhead. It's definitely a different style of hooking and fighting fish with braid compared to mono. You have to set the hook much harder and can really lean into the fish with mono. It's the opposite with braid. 👍
@@ElevatedFishing any chance we can get the specifics with your reel/rod combo? That would be so sick for the guys lookin to migrate to cp like myself.
@@danb3703 We are working on developing a new line of centerpin rods from a US blank manufacturer. In the meantime we will make a video going in depth on what we use and why. 👍
@@ElevatedFishing thx Chad or Dan! A lot of ppl no doubt would be interested in your choices with rod reel because of all the time spent you guys do with tackle and gear. Its not common to see it. Wondering if your friends lamiglas closer he uses is the 6-12lb model or if its the 4-10lb model? Looking for something to fish all day with but felt the 6-12 closer rod was a bit too heavy. Thoughts? Feedback? Cheers boys
@@danb3703 It is a 6-12lb unfortunately lamiglas moved production to Mexico so they aren't as nice as they used to be. I would personally go the CTS route or check out Nova tackle. He makes some great CP rods.

@@ElevatedFishingawesome video what ratings are on your rods? I’m thinking of getting a 6-10 closer rod
@@pnwfishingaddict4878 6-10lb is good. For larger steelhead a 8-15lb is nice.
killer😎😎
Nice 👍
Where’s he get his stick weights? And awesome video glad to see you guys are back

Are your guys’ weights dragging the bottom like a bobber doggin rig? I can’t tell in the video but I’m going to try this type of fishin

That black simms pack you got the freestone sling? You like it, I been thinking about snagging one! Beautiful fish/rad video!
Awesome video. What rod and reel - centerpin are you using and what are the specs. #tightlines
Kingpin Zeppelin and R2 along with EBA. Rods are 12' custom CTS and 12' closer blanks custom built. 👍
