Just installed a lectron wow nice unit started right up adjusted idle until I get out riding this weekend big thanks to the guys at slavens for getting carb out to me overnight and helped with a few questions I had with the throttle cable I have on my bike !
There's a seam that runs right down the middle of the carburetor from the casting. If you put a small mark on that with a sharpie, you can use the cut out notch in the top of the intake boot to perfectly put the carb in the tilt/level configuration. It's not that big a deal, like you said but someone like me if you give me a hair to split I'll try to split it twice :-)
The 6mm shorter intake manifold Lectron sold me for my '17 KTM 300XC still has the nubs at 12 o'clock. Their own instructions say to cut them off 'your own' manifold. Should I cut them off of theirs? Are the nubs still there on this manifold in the video?
Very good video, thanks! Also, noticed you aren't running that green handlebar mount that dampens the vibration but the flex bars instead. Any reason you didn't go with the green bar mount you had a video of a few months ago? Does it not work w a steering damper?
Jeff, thanks a ton for making all the great videos. I ended up picking up your Lectron carb kit for my 17' 300XC last fall that I just got around to installing yesterday and it works great. One thing I didn't think to order from you was the intake flange gasket for the shorter flange I purchased. Since I only have about 20 hours on the bike, I ended up reusing the old gasket. Any issues using the old one if it was in good shape for now? Very interested in your thoughts.
What do you think about switching to the 150xcw 38 keihn carb on the 300's. I have heard from other channels that they are really good, but wanted to hear your opinion.
Several issues; 1. It has jets that you have to change for different elevations and temps, Lectron self-adjust. 2. Fuel economy is 30-40% less than the Lectron, 3. Has less low-end torque than the Lectron HV, 4. Only sold by the Snake Oil Salesman so expect little or no support.
I see you have a motion pro throttle cable, lectron gave me a barret with a godawful 4" long in line barrel adjuster. Is there any reason I'm not able to use the stock throttle cable from the Khein? 2014 YZ250
Hi Jeff. I have 2019 300xc. I'm running amsoil dominator 50/1 with lectron carb. It smokes like a chimney an spits oil all over everything out of exhaust. Any suggestions on carb adjustment or fuel mixture? Thanks.
Hi Jeff. I just installed the yz 250 shorty kit on my 98. The intake bell on the lectron is too narrow and I can’t get the air boot to seat properly. From what I can see is I’ll have to make a spacer between my air boot and my air box to get the air boot closer to the carb. Does anyone make a velocity stack extension , preferably lectron to make this installation work? I don’t want to go through this trouble. I’m just seeking info from a experienced installer. Thanks. Sam.

This was a great video with excellent information on this carb install! I'm glad I saw this video before I give it a shot tomorrow. Thank you Jeff!

Thanks for the video - will have it by my side come install time!

I have several bikes. I like and use Flexx bars and the Mako 360 handlebar mount. Dampers can be used with both.
For 2020 you need the short intake boot too ? Or can you use the original boot intake ?

No problem. Run it.
Great!!! Thanks!!
Incredible dexterity!!
Hi Jeff, I snapped the throttle tube assembly on the trail. Can you sell that part separately.
I think so. Call the store and ask for Alec.
Jeff, what kind of handle bars do you have there? Looks cool...

Jeff Slavens Ha! Very nice. I'll have to put those on my list with the titanium axle rods.
I have them on my 300XCW..Highly recommended..
I have a Domino like this on my Lectron, what cables cross reference to this assembly? I'm a long way from home and my cable broke.
Cables are listed on this page >>> slavensracing.com/shop/lectron-carburetor-parts-accessories-tools/

Jeff Slavens thank you
I crack up every time he says you torq-a-holic guys !!!!
Hi Jeff,
The way you installed in video standard length motion pro cable or longer 5"needed ??
Want to purchase from your web site??
Thanks
That routing uses the plus 1" cable listed on our site.

Cameron Morgan
The stock inner cable is too short. You might be able to use the stocker if you install a shorter carb top cable adjuster.
Do you have the part number for that shorter intake manifold?
It can be ordered on this page slavensracing.com/shop/lectron-carburetor-parts-accessories-tools/ or by calling us at 719-475-2624.

Do I need to use a new intake manifold boot when installing a Lectron carb on a 2018 300 XCW?
Hello?

Sorry, I'm not familiar with a shorty kit.
Great knowledge thanks.
Hey Jeff I was wondering if lectron makes a carb that can fit a 2004 kx250
Yes, just give us a call and ask for Alec. 719-475-2624
Can I use my G2 Throttle tamer with the Lectron?
Yes, if it is on a Domino throttle assembly.
