Belfast to Glasgow by direct coach is very useful, and beats all the tedious faffing about getting to Belfast port, by ferry, then by bus from Cairnryan to Ayr, and then by train from Ayr to Glasgow. However, there is some grumbling that if you are travelling from Belfast to England via Glasgow, it's a very long way round by coach. We lost the Ulsterbus/National Express coach service from Belfast to Dumfries, Carlisle, Manchester, Birmingham and London a few years back. Maybe time it was restored, even if a coach operator could just reinstate a direct service from Belfast to the railway station and bus station at Carlisle.
The whole process with Hannons and StenaLine was smooth and hassle free. I have memories of travelling to Manchester via the national express coaches. I seem to remember hearing of someone doing Belfast to London journey and it taking 24 hours. Nonetheless great service for those who prefer not to fly. Niamh x
The music is extremely annoying. It would be more useful to give information on the duration of each step of the journey, where the voyager is leaving and arriving, and the facilities available, along with the costs. It's always nicer to hear a knowledgeable voice giving out essential info rather than repeated, irritating music.

I never knew this service excised and it seemed so much better and stress free than flying. So cheap as well.

Is there ID check? Do I need a passport or other ID with me?
We were never asked for ID but always good to bring it (just incase).
Mm were there any police checks at Belfast Port or at Cairnryan??
Yes both sides. Niamh x
@@WalkWithNiamhwhat kind of document do you have to provide to them?
There was no border crossing control?
There was, I didn’t film it, but it was on a random basis.
