In this world of instant gratification, jiu-jitsu is a different world. When you start you suck!!! When you start you might have thought you were the man but pretty quickly your ego gets smashed and often i have gone home humbled or wondered "what the hell just happened", and yes a few times i have cried in frustration. You get taught to embrace the suck. You get used to and embrace the discomfort. Dare i say it ive been doing this for nearly 10 years, and compared to others, i still suck. However what it has taught me is to encourage others in the sport, to relax under extreme pressure, be positive and hopefully a better person, and most importantly, to never give up. Yes this is definitely not just a martial art or a sport, but a way of life. Take the positives away from this grind and use it in your personal life. Your life will change for the better. You will meet the best people you could ever think of meeting in your life. You will meet and roll with world champions, you will meet and roll with champions in life. The best decision in my life. Is it easy??? Hell no!! This is the hardest thing I've done in my life. I train 3 nights a week, and often I try to excuse myself, too sore, too tired, too old, too scared. These are the times I force myself to go and you can bet your bottom dollar, these are the best, most enjoyable times or technically the best nights I have had. Do it, you won't regret it. Respect!!! Osu!!
I remember watching these videos at the end of 2018, beginning of 2019 in my apartment in Bangkok trying to find something that can help in my messy life at that time, everything was going down as a house of cards, and these videos encouraged me to try the free lesson in april 2019, in the middle came a moving to another country, try to find another gym for training, the pandemic that forced the gyms to close, training at frien'ds apartments, wherever we could improvise some mats and do some drills, in the journey I become fit, went from 110kg to 76kg, imrpove my business, become a better person. Since april 21st, 2022, when my coach tied the blue belt to my waist, i can't stop crying of emotion with all the impact that BJJ had in my life. An amazing journey. Jiu Jitsu Heals, Jiu Jitsu Empowers, Jiu Jitsu Saves. Until the belt turns black!!! OSSSSSSS
I love jiu-jitsu I have been doing it for 4 years and was to scared to go into tournaments because I was afraid of losing. I think I might try one now!
adrenaline rush is the best feeling ever, even if you lose it is worth it.and when you experience adrenaline for the first time you will become addicted to it!
@@Lu1zh1 Oh there is that guy. Every kind of martial art will help you on the street. If you have lots of experience in some martial art you should be good in a street fight. And if you do some kind of sport only because you want to be ready for a street fight is stupid. The best thing about Bjj is that is super fun. And you can find in internet lots of street fight where the guy uses BJJ and what is the chance to get in a actual street fight. I’m a striker martial artist. Muay thai, karate, taekwondo, boxing, I can do all those! But I get my ass whooped almost every time I roll, even up against white belts!! But what keeps me coming back to jiujitsu is knowing that if I keep pushing through, eventually I WILL get better! Jiujitsu is not easy, but it’s rewarding. 🥋🥋🥋
Hi, man, nice work but I want to suggest you a BJJ clip with the music River by Bishop Briggs, do you know it? Would be amazing to see the images of the drills and fights in slow motion with this song.
Xavier Pushkin I don’t believe wrestling is more effective. If you train with a bjj guy that knows what he is doing he could easily choke you or do something completely unexpected that wrestlers do not know how to get out of. Another thing about bjj is that you don’t have to be a big strong guy to train, you could be a little girl and still kick ass. We also have belts to reward us when we get better.
