Everybody in the forums is always so divided over the new models every year, but this year there's a lot of positivity, plus so much eagerness for what;s to come later in the year.

The AR520h has a headstock known as "castellated" because of the similarity to the top of the walls in a medieval castle.
The new beginner guitars are actually crazy. And Ibanez made a smart move equipping them with fixed bridges. The F106 bridges are excellent, quality no-bs stuff. This "tradition" of equipping low priced guitars with garbage vintage-style tremolo systems needs to finally end. And the GRGs actually look pretty dope, too!
Not a bad range but I do prefer guitar range from 2018 and 2019 . Just personal preference

I'm firmly in the "hate the black plastic selector switch surround" group. I feel Nita's signature is damn near perfect, except for that piece of plastic. To me, it just looks incredibly cheap.

I just noticed that the bridge and tailpiece of the FRM300 are recessed into the body; this means that the neck pitch might be more like an RG than an AR (my spasticity demands a flat neck pitch, like a Fender)! Please, Andy, explore this in your review.
I’m really happy there making lots more guitars in Japan at a price I can handle!

Pd: The Burgundy RG is awesome and I'm kinda excited for the GAX30 because the older versions had awful access and a plate neck joint, now late beginners don't have to fight with those things

Love my Ibanez FRM300 .. soundwise and feel.. but the electronics..They should have better quality ones cos my pickup selector has starter acting up. When I switch from neck to bridge pickup, the sound just disappears 😞
It would be nice to mention which ones are available for lefties and which are not!

wow I can't believe you totally skipped over the only guitar I've been waiting on Ibanez to put out ever since they brought back the Genesis RG 550/570's, which has been years now. The Rg 565.. Only Ibanez I plan on buying in 2021.. I can't wait.

Hey! Glad you enjoyed. The prices are always hard to predict. There is the manufacturer price and the street price. I would always expect the street price to be less.

Save your money. If you want a Japan made guitar the same quality as a Prestige, buy an FGN. They’re cheaper and have more versatile model options.
Ibanez should reissue the Ibanez Roadstar 2. I think that headstock is cooler than these, much cooler!

@@TheGuitarGeek the rg631alf as the colour transition looks fantastic plus the whole alf thing (I am a child of the 80s after all). Plus the purple hint of it would mean I wouldn't get moaned at by the other half about getting another guitar.

Where can you buy Ibanez knobs? I would like to put them on my Gibson's...the ones with the soft rubber outside ring? Yeah...and maybe T style ones aswell. But mainly the soft rubber outer ring ones.

I've been wondering that deep in the back of my mind for...2 years.?? Maybe...yep, about 2 years!
It's cos whenever I'm in , say a guitar shop or otherwise have the attention of a Guitar-xspert - like right now, for e.g. - I have too many other things to ask. So the Ibanez knobs never get their question asked, let alone answered!
But you showed this show in long detail, with all the patience in the world....and it brought it up for me. So..it being like..3am or so (in Australia) when I asked you, I wasn't really expecting an answer....ever! Or certainly not right then!
Ok, I'm going on about it now - it's only a little thing..but little things like that are a bit deal to me! I want my details perfect.
I devote so much of my leisure resources - both time and money aswell as other things of value - to all things guitar....I want the details to be awesome!
I bought a Charvel DK24 HSS Shell Pink a fortnight ago, and I very nearly bought the Ibanez AZ instead...just for the knobs! Those "Sure grips" knobs.

@@Lambik79 One funny thing about ESP-Schecter (Hisatake Shibuya owns both companies) is that their lefty guitars are not available in Jpaan when I live. No Apocalypses , no EC1000s. so stupid I have to order from America for a Japanese guitar.

Each year Ibanez guitars go up 10% in pricing. That is 200 bucks for a Prestige each year and rising. Income is decreasing for most of us these times.

Genesis still $999 MAP US after what, 3yrs now? The newer ash 652a models have only gone up $200 in nearly 5yrs 🤔

And I watch podcast, dare I say listen to podcast only. I am not easily bored but your content as of late has become annoying and proof of that are the low views your recent videos have been making. Also I pay for this content with UA-cam premium so do t throw the free content card at me. I accept that from random people online that took time out of their life’s to provide an opinion or share an experience. But you are making this full-time. It’s part of your income with “making money with guitars” right? So make it at least interesting or don’t do it at all. I watched last year clays video and I don’t agree with his views but at least was less mind numbing. This is coming from a place of disappointment as a long time subscriber. @@TheGuitarGeek it’s none of my business how many views you get, as someone without access to stats it seems like you were getting more views per video before. Your content did change and I have not watched regularly since you started interviewing nobodies on how to make it when themselves have not made it. I think after Henning get together. I come back when you have interesting content as it an opportunity to be captivated. But since you are saying maybe I shouldn’t spend my time checking if the content suits me. Don’t get me wrong I do like interviews and Longform content. I like the mod videos, when you find interesting gear is also cool or do a more personal/individual reviews such as comparisons or demos in context with similar priced gear

I really love the line up. Some GREAT offerings in the lower price range and that FRM 300 is VERY exciting!
I bought AZ when they came out and I like it. Your better off buying the old prestige models from people who just kept them in a case, for $900 to $1200. My 3120 has a flamed top and all.
I'm just stoked they're finally bringing us the Rg 565..just wished they offered more colors for the 550/565's like they did back in the day. these colors are quite boring

Typical the only new lefty additions are the budget models. I'm fed up with ibanez ignoring us and when Dr Dan says "we are always trying to add more models," thats a joke, left handed players are an afterthought for Ibanez
Hey man, I feel your pain but I think it is totally based on supply and demand. If the customers demanded it enough, the retailers would buy them and the manufacturers would have to make them.
On one hand I get it, they can't afford to make every model left handed because us lefties are the minority and it would coat a lot to do but to say Ibanez consider lefty players is an insult because they don't. If they cared that much there would be a bigger range available at each level of quality as well as custom ordering or the highest end models

@@TheGuitarGeek I really appreciate that, I doubt the powers that be at Ibanez will be as compassionate but you never know. Please mention to him about making more signature models too like the JS, PGM and PIAs 👍
@@SouthpawSatch actually the offerings vary between countries/continents. For Europe we had 30+ lefty models available in the last year - much more than in previous years. Like Andy mentioned, neither the actual demand nor the production capacity is there to offer every model as a lefty option. Many lefties simply play right-handed so even if we assume that 5-10% of the demographic are lefties, still not all of them demand lefty guitars. With that said, we strive to make most of the hot selling guitars available sooner or later for left-handers. If a new series gets released, like AZ, it still takes time to assess if it makes sense business-wise to develop a lefty twin since with all of the proprietary hardware that Ibanez is producing there is a lot of additional costs involved.
