Boxers would get mauled by leg and body kicks as well as ground and pound, mma fighters would quickly realize that they’re hopeless without access to their entire tool belt. However I think it’s much more likely for an mma fighter to have success in boxing than for a boxer to switch to mma.
Pat is a grape. Mixed is like a fine aged wine. Both great but comparing the flavor of the 2 is like describing 2 entirely different things. And i say this because i love Pat. One of the rare mma guys who likes most of my comments and replies more than just a generic reply. But hes still a newb. He quit his job like a year ago to start his channel. And whilst the talent is there its not as polished in the storytelling or the choice of story to tell. I think Mixed is a case of "Its not the story you tell its how you tell it" an attitude that is very typical in his neck of the woods. Pat is the opposite. He is very matter of fact and his subject choices are less about the most interesting story. And more about the popular story. So yeah Mixed is basically the perfect creator who doesnt get in the way of his content too often. Pat just hasnt learned that yet IMO. But is still talented and makes good content... So hopefully he will.

I had discussed Jake booking those two fights with respect to Dana's critiques of him not fighting boxers. And I had discussed the fact that this isn't truly "Jake v MMA" in the Woodley/Askren part, but they both really slowed the video down. The former was info a viewer of this video doesn't really need, the latter is an obvious enough point. So I pulled both in favor of video that had a little less info but a lot more momentum.

KSI, Deji, Anson, the Paul's, all looked great in their last fights compared to their first. I heard that these big fights are total deception. They sign NDAs and basically agree a loss or draw. With a split on the ppv. It's basically a way to turn professional combat sports into nothing but pageantry and 90% of fighters will comply, because they will make way more money and not have to risk their physical health.

No joke, I know 3-4 mid 40s dads that have trained boxing for 1-2yrs that hit pads better than Ben. Seriously, Ben is stiff and slow…but much respect to Ben for how he handled the loss.
I don't understand why people are upset about this. MMA is not boxing, it is mixed martial arts. Would we expect an mma fighter to beat a karate point fighter in competition? Go into K1 and win kickboxing competitions? Wrestling Competitions? BJJ? Of course not. It is learning all of these arts and bringing them together to have a true fight. Boxing is a completely different sport with a specific ruleset. Jake or his team is definitely a marketing genius. They exploited the big names in MMA as they knew something most people don't know. Boxing is VERY different from MMA. IMO jake paul loses against anyone in the top 100 in the world in boxing at his weight class.

I don't understand why people are upset about this. MMA is not boxing, it is mixed martial arts. Would we expect an mma fighter to beat a karate point fighter in competition? Go into K1 and win kickboxing competitions? Wrestling Competitions? BJJ? Of course not. It is learning all of these arts and bringing them together to have a true fight. Boxing is a completely different sport with a specific ruleset. Jake or his team is definitely a marketing genius. They exploited the big names in MMA as they knew something most people don't know. Boxing is VERY different from MMA. IMO jake paul loses against anyone in the top 100 in the world in boxing at his weight class.
Bro, thank you. I’ve been trying to tell people this but almost nobody knows what the fuck they’re talking about when it comes to combat sports. I’ve called it with Nate, Woodley, Askren, and Silva that Jake would win. Now everyone is shocked and Jake is suddenly “legit”. The whole thing is smoke and mirrors and honestly I gotta respect Jake not for his fighting skills as these fights don’t prove anything but like you said, his marketing is genius.

@@MollyWhopMMA IF (and that's a big if) Jake Paul does the unthinkable then I struggle to see what's next for him other than McGregor, Maywether, MMA possibly or the start of a legitimate boxing career. Obviously I'm routing heavily for Anderson... but part of me is curious of what would happen if Jake somehow knocks him out.
