Magnite Geza special edition
Nissan Motor India, to celebrate the first anniversary of the Geza Edition, has launched a new trim called the Geza Special Edition of the Magnite SUV in India. This new edition is available in turbo-petrol CVT guise at a starting ex-showroom price of Rs. 9.84 lakh.
Feature-wise, this new edition of the Magnite comes loaded with a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, JBL-sourced music system, rear camera with guidelines, and ambient lighting. Furthermore, customers can also opt for the beige coloured seat upholstery.
Mechanically, as the name suggests, the Magnite Geza Special CVT Edition comes equipped with a CVT gearbox coupled to the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol motor. In this state of tune, the engine churns out 99bhp and 152Nm of peak torque.
Commenting on the launch, Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. (NMIPL), said, 'We are delighted to introduce the newest variant of the Magnite following the tremendous success of the Geza Special Edition last year. We have identified a significant opportunity based on customer feedback in the market to offer premium features at an accessible price point. The Magnite Geza CVT Special Edition is the only CVT turbo available at such a competitive price with features that no other product offers in the market. It underlines our commitment to delivering best-in-class technology, premium features and advanced infotainment offerings at an accessible price.”

he new Kia Carnival is coming to India and the facelifted version of the MPV has now been spotted testing without camouflage. This is a refreshed version of the latest-gen Carnival that will mark its debut in India soon.
New Kia Carnival: Exterior, interior, and features
The spy images show the updated Carnival featuring large L-shaped LED daytime running lights along with a wide chrome grille and a bigger nose. On the other hand, the taillights take on a modern L-shape design as well. These are connected by a sleek LED light bar that has become a signature element on many of Kia's latest offerings. Inside, the new Carnival's cabin will feature a more minimalistic interior with a sleek dashboard and dual 12.3-inch displays. In the international market, this MPV is offered in seven-, nine-, and eleven-seater configurations, with no confirmation yet on which of these will come to India.
Powertrain options for the 2024 Kia Carnival
The Carnival is globally offered with three engine options. These include a 3.5-litre petrol V6, 1.6-litre turbo-petrol hybrid, and a 2.2-litre diesel. We expect the latter 2.2-litre turbo-diesel to be offered in India mated to an automatic transmission.
Launch timeline and expected price
The Kia Carnival was on sale in India earlier and will now be re-launched in the festive season this year. With an expected ex-showroom price range of Rs. 25 lakh to Rs. 35 lakh, it will be way above the current three-row MPVs in terms of space, features, and quality
Maruti Mini electric car patented
Maruti Suzuki has patented the eWX small EV in the country. First showcased at the 2023 Tokyo Motor Show, the eWX concept is a Kei car for the Japanese market which could also be introduced in India.
As seen in the patent image, the Maruti Suzuki eWX is similar to the concept that was showcased last year. It gets a blanked-off grille, vertically stacked lights on the bumper, A-pillar-mounted ORVMs, and funky wheels with squared inserts. It will miss out on B-pillars. Notably, the car features a windshield that stretches into the roof.
Since the car is still in the concept stage, Suzuki has not revealed the interior or technical specifications of the eWX. It could source power from a battery pack paired with a single electric motor with a claimed range of up to 230km.
While we await more details of the eWX, Maruti will introduce its first electric offering in India early next year. Showcased as the eVX on multiple occasions in the past, this electric vehicle from Maruti will rival the upcoming Tata Curvv EV, Hyundai Creta EV, Honda Elevate EV, and more.
Mahindra new XUV700 variant
Mahindra has introduced a new variant called AX5 Select based on the AX5 seven-seater trim at a starting price of Rs. 16.89 lakh (ex-showroom). This new variant can be had in diesel and petrol engines with manual and automatic transmission options. The latter will cost Rs. 1.60 lakh more than the manual versions.
With the new AX5 Select variants, customers will benefit from features such as a panoramic sunroof, dual 10.25-inch displays for the infotainment and the instrument panel, push start/stop button, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, six speakers, and electrically adjustable ORVMs.
