Mine will be here sometimes next week. The one thing i was sold on this radio is that it has the channel knob on top. I know most GMRS radios like the Revetis RB27 and G11S (same radioals) can TX outside the GMRS band and on 2m too.

Edit: I finally got this to work on a different computer, but now the programming software won't read the radio. It says host failed then the radio restarts. Is there a different software i should be using with the new firmware?
I am having the same issue. Were you able to get the Ha1g to connect back to the programming software?
@@DreamlandMediaProductions mine is saying no data can be written after the radio connects. Wish it would be simpler.
If you're having the "Waiting for the host to enter upgrade mode" issue, do this:
With your radio off, connect it to your pc and start the update.
After the update has started and you see "Waiting for the host to enter upgrade mode" then turn your radio on as shown in the video, the update will start.
Once done, disconnect your radio, turn it off, and back on again.
Your radio is now unlocked.

Is it permanent until you undoit or do you have to do this everytime you power on
@@robertcheek5962 the ability to unlock it is permanent until you rollback/update the software. Each time you power on the radio you will have to do the #lock - 1 2 3 4 5 6 unfortunately

I've done exactly what you've said but the update tool won't open no matter what I do, can someone please help?
My PC was destroyed... was hoping for a simple keypad unlock. I'd be happy just for all of UHF to be open. I'll just get an Icom IC F2000T
Cool looking radio. Checks a lot of boxes. Maybe we’ll see a dual band version released some day.
Though I don’t like that it teeters on the table. Is there an extended battery that helps make the base a little deeper to prevent that teetering?
It's a dual band radio.
@@RKingisnot exactly. It’s locked to GMRS and to get it opened up is a pain. Also I bought one and I think it’s a piece of junk. Mic sounds like trash, and the thing won’t stand up on a table without wobbling and falling at the slightest breeze.

BTW, the second program in the CPS folder that ends with FAC.exe is an unlocked CPS that appears to allow you to change almost all of the parameters of the radio.
Have you find a way to bypass the password? Its driving me nuts!

@@MrSabram07 Basically anything that the GMRS part were grayed out. So like for example, I got rid of channels 23-30, and turned on talk around on 15-22 so I could turn on or off for a repeater. I then programmed 23-30 for local repeaters.

Were you able to figure out the fix to the "waiting for host" I'm having the same issue.
with your radio off, connect it to your cable and start the update. When "Waiting for host" pops up, power on your radio as shown in the video and it'll write. I had the same issue and this fixed it.

@@trentonearnest2868so my buddy gave me this radio bc he didn’t know it couldn’t be used on VHF, so I had nothing to lose so I tired this I had the same problem but I moved my files around put the radio into program mode and tried it at first I got waiting for host 300/300 then I turned the radio off and started the update then turned the radio on in program mode after it updated I unplugged it and turned it back on and it works you could try this
