In fact I have enjoyed the this monumental song of Maharaja Swathi Thirunal when sung by Sreevalson J Menon with a class Virutham - 'kandarkayanan kandarkayananulliloru matham mandichidum shobaye...' ; Listened in mid 2020. Of course listened when sung by Maestro KVN and other erstwhile vocalists long back. Its almost like a poem in manipravala-malayalam and KVN is excellent in his tone n diction.,Loved the presentation of niraval "padmanaabha paahi paahi .." n the high profiled kalpanasworam with raga phrases; the flavour of Hindustani is Bhairavi thaat is visible in the extempore sworas while its the equivalent of the the Carnatic Hanumatodi, commonly more known as Todi. I am sure that KVN did the magic by simple permutation of the raga notes to show that Carnatic n Hindustani division can be shrunk by him to some extent!!! Pranams to the maestro's soul......
