  • Aloha! Here is the 1st video of a Tahitian Basics video series I will be working on the next few weeks. In this video the basics covered are Susua and Tamau. The practice music is Fenua, pacific techno beat and song " paradisia" I hope this helps those who want to learn Ori Tahitian dance. Remember movements and terminology differ from school to school. I am simply teaching the style I was taught. Thanks for watching and take care!

This is a beautiful dance but just to be safe, if you're pregnant, stop & take a break. I've seen many women dancers especially ballet dancers risking it dancing whilst heavily pregnant. Think about the baby for a minute. No offense though I'm just saying if you're expecting then I could be wrong if you're not.

Franck Yan good looking out. Yes I danced through 4 of my pregnancies and baby 5 wasn’t having it! Haha the body is amazing and dancers and athletes alike are usually very strong and healthy. We just have to know our own limits.

Done Ori for 8 years and never heard of the “Susua”. Doesn’t sound like Te Reo origin. Interesting.

Abby Quiet Really? Because I asked my Tahitian friends and they have never heard of it. My Ra’atira who was taught by Makau said she was not taught this when she was with Tamariki Poerani. I was taught Tamau and Tairi Tamau.
