If I’m not mistaken, Houston Alexander was fighting to make enough to raise his six kids by himself and give them a life he did not have. He even donated one of his kidneys to his kids, he fought with one kidney throughout all those years. He used the little fame he had to raise money for kids programs. Good dude that should be respected in my opinion. Also RIP to Kimbo Slice, the OG backyard brawler.

Met Kimbo in a game store in florida when i was 15 or 16, he was buying his son a playstation and was talking to the front desk person when i stopped him and asked him for a picture. Man, UFC missed out on a Lesnar vs Kimbo PPV. They both debuted in mma around the same time and were both older by then. Wrestler vs striker, it woulda been a neat matchup on paper.

kimbo is extremely stiff legged. he's like an action figure without movable leg joints, but with movable arm joints. you almost wonder how he manages to stand up and you're just waiting and expecting him to fall over any time.
