      The big difference was having the kids out of the equation, and when she does something, like me, she gives it 110%. Her filming was the difference in this no doubt! I’ll pass on your kind words.

    Best video of yours so far ! You have this really inspiring mood , and give to the surfskate a new dimension

      This comment means so much to me! This is what I have been trying to preach: The surfskate is the all-terrain-vehicle of skateboarding technology that can be used practically anywhere and for anything! It is the greatest invention and so many people are barely scratching the surface of the doors it can open!!!

But with films like this one or your amazing bowl tutorials you give all the advice that is needed. If you mention the Buymeacoffee button in the film itself there might be more positive response... Hey and 2, 3 or 5 euros doesn't hurt.....You have plenty of followers that enjoy your output. Cheers :)

    Woke up on saturday morning, saw a notification saying your new video is out and I was hyped for the weekend!
    Made coffee and breakfast, hit play and enjoyed the video! 😎
    There’s some great skating in this one (as is in all of your videos). But the scenery makes this even greater!
    I find the boardslide particularly awesome, as I haven’t yet been able to land one myself. I always get wheelbite on landing.
    The backslide to 180 off a ledge is great. I have to try this myself. Your kickflips are legendary, people don’t appreciate how much harder it is to land one on a surfskateboard! The drop in to the bank from a rock was also awesome.👍
    Hats off to your wife for doing all the camera work! Mine always gets bored and angry with me after a couple of tries. 😇
    What equipment do you use, we can see her running like crazy in a shot, but the video is stable. Is it a DJI Osmo? The aerial shots were great as well.

    • @MarktheLandlockedSurfer
      @MarktheLandlockedSurfer  2 роки тому

      Thank you! The term for that fakie 180 off the ledge is a "half-cab" named after Steve Caballero, hard to do on a surfskate but a fun challenge! For most of the moving shots, we just used the GoPro Hero 10 - the hypersmooth stabilization does an incredible job. Don't even bother with a gimbal anymore.

    • @MaTiCeK
      @MaTiCeK 2 роки тому +1

      @@MarktheLandlockedSurfer thanks, I have to try it. I can do it on flat. But from a ledge it seems much more difficult to do.

    • @MarktheLandlockedSurfer
      @MarktheLandlockedSurfer  2 роки тому

      @@MaTiCeK It isn't really that bad, the only difference is you have to get the timing spot on. It is almost easier than an ollie because you don't need to travel as far: Basically the trucks you pop from only have to travel a few inches to clear the gap. With an ollie your back trucks need to move at least a board-length because you pop before your front trucks hit the edge and you need to be in the air long enough for your back trucks clear that same edge.

      I have some Santa Cruz 95a Scudwadz on one of my boards and they work okay but I find them harder to control in slides. Do you find that with the spitfires?

    • @DennisSattler
      @DennisSattler 2 роки тому

      I couldn't tell you other than Spitfire Formula Fours are the most popular wheels in Southern California in skate parks. I happen to think the slide is a little more predictable than Bones which are pretty much ranked the second preferred brand of wheel. Spitfires have their own sound when sliding. Kinna scratchy. I would not recommend anything harder than the 97a (green label,) since it is a surfskate.

      Basically a 180 powerslide or 180 snap followed by a kickturn to bring it back to forward. I cover it as one of the learning steps towards 360 slides in this video: ua-cam.com/video/mmsRO-fwYmw/v-deo.html

      That is a great way of asking that question! It WAS the YOW Snappers that you see in this movie, however, I bashed it up a lot on this trip and it is in very rough shape now. I have a new YOW arriving next week. In the meantime, I just recently received a Smoothstar Toledo #77 and I have to say that I am very much enjoying it right now for quick sessions on the street and in the parking lot.

      I consulted several people and most said they were able to take them carry-on. Some people were forced to check them. We took our chances and were allowed to bring them carry-on. Our back up plan was to ask if we could gate check them like a baby seat or mobility walker.
