Great tutorial, but you really shouldn't pick the camera up from the top handle while it's on the tripod like that (00:35). The connection between the top handle and the camera is weak and could break if it's bearing the weight of that entire tripod. Be careful not to put too much stress on the top handle. It is one of the only design flaws in an otherwise perfect camera.

No, a larger aperture gives a shallower depth of field.
