- I personally found F1 2016's car R&D system to be lots of fun and quite varied with the potential outcomes, but was over way t quickly. F1 2017's R&D system was slow moving and boring and I talked about the reasons why, extensively, last year. F1 2018's career mode introduces a new contract negotiation system, team goals, contract bonuses, rule changes, interviews and the fog of war. But do any of them make the career mode more exciting to progress through?
Well I can tell you for a fact the interviews and especially the fog of war don't, hence why I don't even mention them in this video. But what about the rest of the changes?

So what I experienced is true: several drivers (Ericsson, Hartley, Vandoorne, and I believe Grosjean as well) are heavily handicapped to their respective team mates.
Well it kinda makes sense as Leclerc is much faster than Ericsson in real life
When you retire at the end of the game there should be a big press conference followed by a montage of your driver becoming part of ‘the best/legend drivers’ montage from the beginning of F1 to that moment (but whether your in that montage or not should depend upon your record) and you should be able to review your career in a year by year guide.

The only thing I hate about the r&d system is the fact that upgrades can still fail between seasons even if you bought all quality control upgrades
This happened to me on my first season on the game and I lost 3 major aero upgrades and 5 reliability upgrades equating to a loss of 6k r&d points I saved over seven 50% races
It was a serious punch in the face when the team I was in had now become the worst car on the grid by a very big margin

Yes! I've been waiting for this video to come for a while now. 😃😃 This was very interesting with many shuffles across the entire grid order as well as some notable stats here and there just like in the other games. My only negative about this video is that this is the first F1 game in a long time that harshly punishes the player for underperforming including when the player simulates races in certain seasons. Therefore, if you completed as many of the races in this test as possible without simulating them, I would reckon that the outcome of each season might have been even more interesting. 👍
Oh for sure it could've been different. At a minimum I would've won the 3 championships Stroll won, along with possibly the 3rd season, certainly the 7th season and even the 8th season if everything worked out. But at least we are able to work that out with the video as it is, because if I were to actually compete in the championships then this video wouldn't have been finished until 2019 - if ever!
PSLutonrules Yeah, it wouldn't be good if you had to take THAT long to make this. That's why you simulated each race to make it as quick as possible whilst still making each season interesting. I might try to do one of these 10 season tests on the F1 game at some point just to see what surprises I find (if I have the F1 tech knowledge you have obviously). 🙂👍

I will make both of those videos at some point. The safety car video will likely be made early next year. I'm not sure about the F1 2010 All 7 Seasons video but I do definitely want to make it as well as the All 5 Seasons of Career video on F1 2011, both of which I won't really be able to make for a while but they will get made.

They should balance it to where the teams that are lower have more upgrades than the teams that have higher performance. That way if every team has fully upgraded their car then they will all be on equal performance.
The 2nd season US GP is a lot like this year’s GP. Scary.

It could be that in as your in Sirotkin's seat you get Sirotkin's pace difference to Stroll, at some point I'd like to see you do one season as Sirotkin's teammate just to see the difference
I thought that as well, but I recently ran a season in a Ferrari with Raikkonen as my team mate and Kimi still beat me comprehensively in simmed races. In fact Kimi even struggled to beat the Mercedes drivers. So with myself and Raikkonen in a team, in simmed races he performed like he was a second driver and I performed like I was a third driver!
the big question is - did Max get a pole in season 1 to be the youngest to get one? :P

To be fair, if you want to accuse the "FIA" of being biased towards any team in this career mode then surely it must be Red Bull. Like Mercedes and Ferrari they are a top team which benefits from the rule changes, but they have the potential to build a better car than both Ferrari and Mercedes. All the top teams benefit from rule changes, but only one team can end the career with the best car and that's Red Bull, not Mercedes.

Trying to attempt this myself but I'm racing through all of the races (albeit most of them) on 50%. Currently on S3 at mercedes with Sauber the fastest team after i was there for 2 seasons.
Hello :) What do you think is F1 2018 R&D System slower then F1 2019 R&D System ? I ask this, because for me F1 2019 R&D System is too fast, about start of the 4 Season almost all cars are maxed out. I want to start New Career Mode with F1 2018 because i dont like Transfer system and R&D System in F1 2019.

Brilliant videos putting out so much info. :) Please do one for F1 2010 and 2011 as well with the tier system. I would like to see how mixed up the grid would become.
The problem I see with this series is the simulating part. I know you can't race 10 seasons for this but as you said Simulating does mean there is no real race. And I feel like that does make a difference in the outcome of the Championship as well as the AI upgrading their car.
It's a fair point but the alternative to simming through all 10 seasons, is to never make this video at all. Also I don't doubt that it affects how the championships play out, but I don't think it massively changes how the AI upgrade their car. If it does then this video is largely meaningless, but until I see anything that proves the AI car development is different when you take part in races compared to when you sim them, then I'll stand by these All Seasons videos.

From S8 on it just seems sad.
How can be drivers transfered to another teams? Lots of youtubers have transfers in videos. How its possible? :O
All of those UA-camrs have the PC version of the game and have downloaded / made mods to change the drivers. Driver changes aren't in the game due to licensing restrictions and the last time an officially licensed F1 game had driver transfers was EA's F1 Manager which was released just less than 20 years ago.
