People started going at 4AM, you went there at like what, 7AM? And still manage to get a pretty good vantage point with the tanks and all. I'd say thats pretty lucky. If they allowed people to camp (pretty sure they didnt) I'm sure tons of people would've put up camp sites near Merdeka Square (it was blocked off for a few days before the event until the morning of the event iirc).
Tanks are majestic, I was in love with military vehicles since I was child. I love a lot of warships because they're massive and beautiful. Japanese battleship like Yamato is a truly peak of naval warship design back in the 40's. I would encourage the kids with WW2 tank models from Russian or German because they're so beautiful. Learning engineering from start is a great because the child is curious
Yes the tanks that malfunctioned and stalled in the middle of the road during rehearsals…causing a massive crawl in the city centre…. Yes those tanks…indeed are majestic
Welcome to malaysia.. it just cute to look your kids, jets and airplane goes bys and your kid be like “is it ok the food have 3.7g of protein”😂. Anyway enjoy your stay at malaysia..

Yes, Malaysian are fast on their feet with single mindedness when crossing any road on foot. With Corvid health restrictions being eased there should be many opportunities for your family to visit Open House days by various government ministries and departments. Free and popularly crowded. Your son will be able to view up close to those military vehicles-planes-ships during the Malaysian Army/Navy/Air Force open house Day. Just need to know the date and location.
4:03 the amazing fact about it are there's also a parade like this in different state because we have 10 kings, they rotate around to become Yang Di-pertuan Agong(the supreme head of federation), even tho the parade are not big as this but there's still a tank and military truck, the sky show only in Dataran Merdeka tho, this is International stage parade, primary school, middle school and university stage will also happen at the same time at their institution but the one who does the parade are their school cadet such as scouts, fire cadet, police cadet, red crescent cadet and more, some teacher also can be creative by calling a high cc motorcycle convoy to come to their school to motivate the students and celebrate the Independence Day together with the school
Hope you enjoyed the celebration, I woke up late and missed most of the parade on TV 😅 The spot where you looked at those tanks is so cool, very close so thanks for that footage! You kid is awesome and smart, he didn't just want to ride it, he wants to build it 😆👍
I work in Kuala Lumpur near Dataran Merdeka... It's so surreal to watch a VLOG and know exactly where they are and what's going on. Keep up the videos! Welcome to Malaysia.
You can go to a military museum ( there is one in Port Dickson if I am not mistaken ) if he want to go inside a tank or be an engineer when he grows up and build one 😌
Thank you for the video love it! hard to explain to your kids about military but it is necessary for any country to have it for defense and protection but not to be use to attacking other country. Our country being attacked by many country and the military parade is what everybody waiting for. I was in the parade in 1988 and of course wearing Military Uniform. Now I live in Japan and my wife is Japanese. Funny things is my mum forget to put VCR tape and record it I was in the TV that day..残念でしたね!🤣
it is said that during independence day in the capital of the country full of people over a hundred thousand people, yes because for 2 years it was not held due to the covid 19 pandemic and now it is successfully celebrated on a large scale there is congestion, in Japan of course it is normal to be crowded with many people
Your family should try going to LIMA (Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace exhibition). It was supposed to be held in Langkawi once every two years. But it was postponed in 2020 due to covid. Maybe they will held in next year who knows. BUT I’m sure your family will love it.
tbh i quite like Japanese Parade Army and Navy with Rising Sun Flag, don't get me wrong in Malaysia we doesn't have any problem with Rising Sun Flag matter of fact we love it and some people really like it.
You can bring your children to port dickson, negeri sembilan.there is Marin museum and your children can see and interact with the training army there.there is underground tunnel during World war2.go check it out
14:08 you don't need to worry because no ice cream are stolen because we as Malay which is Muslim are prohibited to take anything without consent which is stealing because it will consider as Haram, the ice cream seller also don't say anything because the trust he have, i believe the man are treating other people and keep counting in his head how many ice cream he take and will pay it out later,we as Muslim are taking our Halal & Haram seriously especially in Malaysia so don't need to worry, this is the reason why some store vendor or street stall can let the customer pick their own food such as buffet and pay it out later
You can take parking at Pertama Complex or Sogo area, because Jln Raja Laut is last part to end the who pass from Dataran Merdeka can stop at Pertama Complex and Sogo shooping mall,i remember i come to merdeka parade,i can see all military tank stop at behind Sogo, after march from Dataran, and just take public bus to back to home at past
I one of the service man parade there. U have to go as early 5.30am to find a good sport to seat. I already go there 5.30 am and arrive there 6.00am. It's already alot off people there. I have to push my way to my parade contijen and finally make it there in time before they parade to Dataran Square to Maju Juntion road in the end. It,s been change last minute due to the crowded people that more then expected amount. Early excercise we will stop at Sogo Mall then in change far away in Maju Juntion road.
people que at 4am in the morning, gate open like 5.30am to get to the square. if your sons would like to see more about jet and tank, you may visit the army museum.
What a shame you did not get to enjoy it from the square. The square was pretty much packed even before sunrise so you'd have to arrive at around 6 a.m. to even stand a chance to get a seat.
I'M IN THIS VIDEO 12:42-13:00 Also you should have went to the national museum the tanks were on display there and you can actually touch the tank and see inside of the tank

Thanks Russia & Korea because they gave us deep discounts for the battle tanks. 👍
As much as I hate germany in ww2, i cant deny their tech is really out of mind.

THIS IS THE MUCH NEEDED COMMENT. Tima kaseh bang
There's only 9 kings in total tho, plus 1 Agong. The crown prince will become the king of state when his father becomes the Agong
No firemen? Too bad haha. They were quite popular for a while after the parade. 😁

Love to see your parenting skills. You children are smart!
You went to the right spot. Not too crowded but very close to the parade. Merdeka Square has the main stage but will be crowded.
You can go to a military museum ( there is one in Port Dickson if I am not mistaken ) if he want to go inside a tank or be an engineer when he grows up and build one 😌

Meanwhile me a Malaysian was excited seeing modern JSDF marching to Battotai 😅
