I recently bought a pain of Delta Zulu's at Sun & Fun and really love them. They are very well made and very comfortable. Love the sound quality. I would definitely recommend this headset. I had been using the Bose A20 for years and just wanted to try something different.

Thanks for the video Jack. I’m an Android user and was seriously considering purchasing the Lightspeed Delta Zulu headset. Cause it’s also got the built in carbon monoxide detector. I currently use the Bose A20 and find it fantastic. Clearly Lightspeed have some further work to do on their premium product.

Glad I could help! Bose are bringing out a clip on unit for the A30 shortly that is the CO sensor, so that will be interesting to try out.

The apple issue is simply for setup. I am an Android guy and was able to use a friends apple to set the delta zulus up. Once you set it up there is really no need to use the app. It’s not needed while using the headset.

I had a set of Zulu Light Speed. I was flying into a Tower Controlled Airport. As I was flying in I contacted Approach on troll, they passed me to the Tower, I talked with the Tower, and never got a response. I kept calling but could not hear a response. I made a 180 degree turn and headed back out of the Airspace. I landed at the nearest non controlled airport. I checked my Headset out the Batteries were fine. It turned out that after about 2 to 3 hours of flight in the heat 101 Degrees, they would just completely cut out, I couldn’t receive incoming transmissions, I don’t know if I could transmit. Lightspeed said I had them too long to get a refund they sent me a pair of Zulu 1st generations, to replace. I’m still pissed off about the purchase.

I am curious if you received any help from Lightspeed about the cracking noise you covered from 16:35 to 18:05. It happens *terribly* in my headset, and as you say, it's really hard to explain to someone how painful it is. I talked to LS support about it last year, and stopped by the LS booth at Oshkosh, but all seemed to be unaware that such a problem occurs. It's a *serious* problem, and I don't have any recording mechanism available to me to demonstrate what happens. For me, it's not altitude sensitive, it seems to be a function of intercom volume. I can set the bluetooth music to any volume without a problem, but the wired intercom volume needs to be kept very low, below normal, and that seems to prevent it most of the time. I too fly multiple aircraft, and it is not aircraft/panel specific.

Feel free to point them in the direction of this video, but it's a well known issue here in Australia, the store I use had sent off over 20 headsets with the same issue when I returned mine.
I get the feeling Lightspeed might be playing games with you, as I was passed on information that Lightspeed USA knew the issue and were trying to work out a solution.
The noises that we experience are difficult to record, we could have tried putting a wireless mic in the earcup, but that would give interference.

@@jack_out_the_back Thanks for your reply, do you know if any of those headphones were returned to the owners repaired?

@@skyking2202 most actually just got sent a brand new pair. That's what was offered to me. I traded mine in for a Bose A30, but I actually prefer the A20 or the Zulu 3.

I've got Delta Zulu and Android phone and Bluetooth works fine.

I have both the Zulu 3 and Delta Zulus. I prefer the Zulu 3. The Deltas just feel unrefined and not well thought out at all for all the reasons you mentiomed in this video.
Any update on the A30s? I have some colleagues who are massively disappointed in them and they say that they prefer the A20s. Also, on the A30s the cables are a lot thinner and we have seen them fail within a few months' use.

I bought a Tango®Wireless ANR Headset and it gave me a headache after about 30 minutes in a Sikorsky S92 helicopter. The ANR was massively inferior to the Bose A20. This was a shame as the wireless facility was just what I was looking for. Returned.

Excellent review all the same. I really value all of your flying pieces. We have a farming neighbour here who flys an elderly Jodel from his own farm strip. Quite a novelty for the UK.
