Alright I did enjoy the other books and to an extent I liked red country. My problem with red country is urgency. Like we are on a rescue mission but hey we are going to plod around and take our sweat ass time. Like stop and build a village take our time. It’s like sure in Skyrim I like everyone else conquered all of Skyrim, built a castle and became leader of all the guilds. And even horizons which has faster stakes, worlds going to end next week but hey let’s go help the carja huntress, who’s dressed like she’s going clubbing, deal with her boyfriend drama, ( your Boyfriend is obviously not over his ex. True worlds ending next week but you need closure) and of course we can’t not go kill bandits with the serial killer alloy has some strange sexual chemistry with. In games sure side quests are fun but in books I like some stakes some urgency especially when the mission is to save the little sister. Why are we haggling over the price of bread. Literally.
Yeah I can see that, definitely something you fell in this one. Abercrombie tends to do plot like that (which is also why The Heroes is my favorite, all over three days instead of meandering).
@@nikosbookreviews and in hero’s it worked, it’s a battle campaign it’s chaotic and you have allot of things all happening at once. Best served cold does it to but again it works taking a break from the revenge deal to make a profit or recover makes sense. I could even have understood the idea of looking and not finding in a John Wayne and the searchers but take a break build a town play drinking games when you have sisters to save there you lost me.
Hello 👋 thank you for the review video!! Happy spooky October reading to you!! 🕸🍂🍁⚔️👻
I was surprised how much I enjoyed red country 😊
Same here!
What’d you think of Pacey? Loved hearing your thoughts on this one, and I think I felt very similarly
I thought he did a good job! This one I don't think gave him a ton of variety, but definitely on my list of narrators I've enjoyed so far!
I super enjoyed Red County
It was a good one!

Kingcomo Cosca was the best part of the book. The tongue on this man! Conversationally I mean, not sexually. I can't vouch for that.
Lmao
I have only read a few abercrombie books, perhaps I will read more lol. I do have some on my TBR
I haven't been a huge fan overall, but most are at least worth a read
