I know this is an older recording, but I so miss this team doing the F1 presentation. Jake has a real authenticity, DC knows the mind of a driver and Eddie leaks all the gossip.
It was channel 4 these guys were on ,,,I still watch channel 4's coverage,, Mark Webbers analysis is first class , granted,it's a bit of a woke dei show now.
i am watching some new faces in f1 and can't find that taste you three had given. i was thinking of it is because of my age ( started with you guys) but once my kiddos once said that this trio is way better than any others ( they haven't seen you guys live). i thank you all for being here. cheers...
According to Wikipedia, EJ is 76 and his birthday is 30th March Edit: watched more of it now and I realise Humphreys confirmed this was filmed back in 2023
I used to think Eddie was a bit of an arsehole. But after listening to him on the Podcast, I’ve realised he’s a great bloke. Good luck for the future Eddie. God bless you.
I was fortunate to be working for Red Bull F1 when David came to talk to us, the whole Team. He drove the car so hard, he is so funny, he's a natural comedian & had all 400-ish of us laughing.. One of the best days of my life. Thanks David
I give all my best to EJ, I get the impression with my father suffered the same...but I hope someone who deserves to be around...but Happy Birthday, I'm sure everyone hopes we get to see the next birthday broadcast. This is my favourite podcast (watching on UA-cam) but this hits home really hard... love you guys
Love this, proper throwback. This is what I grew up on in the late 2000s/early 2010s, dare I say I probably would've never got into F1 had I been born a few years later after they ditched BBC for Sky behind a paywall. Also recall Jake from his CBBC Bamzooki! days...Can't say I listen to his podcasts, every bloke & his dog has one, but I've always liked Jake!
I'm a massive long time fan of F1 and when Jake, Eddie and DC were presenting I used to watch every single second of F1 coverage without fail. (I would also say the same when DC and Brundle were commentating (back when Brundle looked like he was enjoying himself)). These days I just switch on 5 minutes before 'lights out' and rarely watch any post-race coverage. I've often thought about that and I think their coverage instilled a real emotional attachment and enthusiasm that simple isn't there anymore (certainly not with Sky).
I've watched a fair few generations of F1 from a flat in Dublin. Championships won n lost and the good bad n ugly of TV coverage. I have to agree with Jake, these three together was all two short lived. I still get excited when I hear Fleetwood Mac come on as if I'm up at stupid o'clock waiting for these three to show up. Many laughs, a few tears. Very glad It was a part of my routine for those four years.
Jake Humphrey was a natural presenter and was always so entertaining. Not sure what he does now, probably gone to Sky or some other expensive medium because I just never see him - such a nice guy.
@@joshpemberton8128 - thanks, I didn't follow his journey but I just felt he was a proper broadcaster, unlike the celebs who think they are entertaining. I reckon he would be a good radio presenter too, something for him to consider when his knees start creaking and 10 hours on a plane become a daunting prospect.
I don’t wish to pour scorn on EJ’s claim that he and DC made Jake but I’ve a feeling that was probably his parents in a back alley somewhere 😬😂 Happy three quarter century birthday Eddie 💥🎂🥂🏆
Despite the Vettel domination, the BBC off track coverage with Jake, David and Eddie was the most fun. They were so much better and not full of shite like SkySports.
Happy Birthday to Eddie. That era's BBC coverage was probably the best of relatively recent years. There was a real chemistry between the three. It was reminiscent of the old Top Gear team - the Three Amigos covering the F1 races worldwide.
Formula for susssusssss... The irony of not being able to pronounce the title successfully is not lost on me, it sets a humorous tone, not a bad thing...
I know this is an older recording, but I so miss this team doing the F1 presentation. Jake has a real authenticity, DC knows the mind of a driver and Eddie leaks all the gossip.
Watching old BBC season reviews with Eddie, Jake, David and Brundle were so nostalgic. every race was covered in such a perfect way.
It was channel 4 these guys were on ,,,I still watch channel 4's coverage,, Mark Webbers analysis is first class , granted,it's a bit of a woke dei show now.
@@Fazzat333 yes they were on BBC fro 2010-13 I think
@@RedWeather2004 2009 to 2012 was the OGs n then 2013-2015 it changed n then the BBC opted out of the deal so it went to Channel 4.
The best sports presenters I’ve ever seen. Congratulations on getting back together and happy birthday to Eddie.

The show with you 3 presenting was the best team F1 ever had and I miss it dearly.
BBC F1 coverage in those years was best sport coverage I've ever seen
All the Sports coverage was top notch back then.
I used to pay my TV licence, now... no chance. I dont watch MSM anymore!
Congratulations from Finland! All the best, take care E.J.
Absolutely brilliant to see the 3 amigo’s back together. Happy birthday EJ and all the best for the new year!
Keep up the good work and stay safe!

He still is but a lovable one though.
I wasn't fond of DC in 1998 1999 love the guy now
Hes aloveable Grifter/ a Flim Flam man... Im sure he would agree!
You do realise both can be true yeah?
Terrific to see the band back together. Thank you for the good times!!
Might have to get Lee McKenzie or Suzi Perry on here

Happy birthday Eddie, great to have the three of you back together again. In my mind the perfect F1 presentation team, never be surpassed
Happy New Year guys. I concur with Jake, keep doing what you're doing 🙃👍
They were the best I just remember watching them 3 together on the BBC. The intro still the best till this day compared to sky intro which is rubbish.

Excellent pod cast
Nothing will ever beat the BBCF1 years between 2009 to 2011! 😍
Was brilliant don't mind sky but nowhere near as good
Happy birthday, EJ, from Belfast.

Well done with the show and a huge birthday celebration for EJ
Happy Birthday Eddie!! You are a rare breed of being a legend in your own lifetime. Well deserved. Courage and peace... God bless
So have you all done an in-person podcast together yet the 3 of you? At least a 1+ hour one please if not yet!!!!

A great trio of F1 presenters
Eddie, looking good, happy birthday and wishing you a vintage year ahead. 👌🏽
You are still young, my mother is turning 90 she is still going stong
The last thing i remember watching on BBC. Wouldn't watch the service if you paid me....thanks for the memories guys...
Happy Birthday EJ!!!
Happy Birthday Eddie! Enjoy your trip
Happy birthday EJ
Great show, thank you and… happy birthday Eddie!
Guys. I think Connor Zillich must test for GM Cadillac F1 team. He is the hottest young wheelman in the USA
Guy's a talent for sure, wins in anything he's thrown into. Will be exciting to see if he will make it all the way to F1. For sure has the talent
Happy birthday to you happy birthday to you happy birthday dear eddie happy birthday to you

FFS, couldn't Jake at least not do this from a car. It isn't 2020!
DC - such a smooth talker. Happy birthday EJ

Congrats Eddie! :) And Jake, I only want to have his money ;)
Happy Birthday EJ 🎉🎂🍾🥂
Must preferred Jake to the Welsh Windbag that presents it now.
Best coverage BBC. EJ DC MB LEE
Ah yes, the old BBC trio!
I miss Jake. He was excellent unlike Lazenby who is truly awful to watch.

Happy birthday Eddie have a great day all the best Les 👍👍
Hes a loveable Flim Flam man/ Grifter. Long may he entertain us!
These podcasts sound suspiciously posthumous . I hope not.😥
Give me Jake Humphries over that idiot Steve Jones any day.
Hate to say it as this is my favourite F1 podcast: first boring episode! 🥱
