Bro could you just wait until the technology works before promising that the world will be changed. We can't even get chatbots to stop making things up and every day people are acting like agents are some advanced alien technology. It's not even a finished product.

I feel ya, man. The robotics industry still has a way to go before we reach the point of physical labor jobs going away, so most likely it will be the IT jobs and customer service jobs that disappear before the labor-intensive jobs follow. I think AI will help us design better robots much faster than without AI, so we can have relatable physical forms of AGI to interact with. There's also the possibility of an age reversal treatment by 2030 according to Dr. David Sinclair, although I have no idea when it would be available to the public after that point. We're entering the end game, just don't die.

Some of us just don't want to work anymore or at least we'd just like to do what we enjoy doing without calling it "work". I think that's the entire point of technological progress, to reach the point of maximum freedom and flexibility for optimal living.@@DavidOndrej

I'm enjoying the content. I have an ounce of feedback to give. I'm trying to listen to this audio only. I realized halfway through I felt I was missing some context... the screens between each speaker gives context and it's not spoken/audible. So on my first listen through I really missing a lot of thoughtful context. I just happened to catch it going into one of those transitions and saw that it was doing that...
Seems like a vey important video presented to a college class of people that are already familiar with the jargon. It went way over my simple graduate degree brain. What the hell is a token? LOTS OF ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT!

Not yet ask again after GPT5 is here and all the flow, Agent Workflows are combined with it then the answear might be different already

I think agents will eventually be replaced by assistants. Assistants and agents aren’t the same thing.

AGI will fulfill any human desire, like a genie or a demon. The quote 'Be careful what you wish for' becomes a significantly more relevant and uncomfortable afterthought.
Yeah you’re absolutely right. Agi/asi works as a genie. Intelligence can give you whatever you want if you have enough of it which agi/asi has a huge abundance of. Look at how our smartest humans have created what we have today that was seen as impossible 200 years ago like cars, airplanes, phones, computers etc. intelligence can create anything.
regardless humans must be protected so there will be technology that will be used for the good for us humans and other animals

my "doom" scenario is very different from others, I am afraid of closed, centralized AGI leading to mass surveillance and eternal slavery
for that, my p(doom) is quite high unfortunately, probably 30-40%
but my p(doom) for AI rising up and deciding to kill us low is extremely low, like 1-2% at most

there are already companies doing exactly this with simulated robotic bodies. The only barrier to turning them into real robotic bodies is money, basically - and there's plenty of that pouring into the AI / robotics space.

what are these agents useful for?
Asking the same
Small definable tasks. Say you want to design a piece of software. You might have one agent that codes and owns a function. Another will test that function. Another will run a code review and send it back to the original agent for improvements or bug fixes. So you end up with a lot of LLM agents all doing the small definable things that LLMs are good at. The human defines the process and high level planning. The things the LLM is really weak at.

I'm building one to automate business analysis tasks for our software dev company. So that 1 analyst can do the work of 5 easily. The AI can read the entire Zoom transcript and write documentation only requiring small corrections by the human.
