Of all the games I have played so far, this is my favorite game. I agree with a lot of the things you mentioned, but what you didn’t mention, is how rewarding it is to complete this game 102%. Not only is it fun to beat all the bonus levels and collect all the DK coins, but doing so will actually fully complete the story and it rewards you with one of the greatest end cutscenes of any game. Seeing that cutscene makes you reflect on all the great time you have spent on the game, and how much fun you had with it. What a great experience.
I talked about the special cutscene and stuff just really late into the vid but you are right about it fully completing the story and making you feel things .overall terrific game
I'm always happy to see a DKC2 video! This game really felt like an adventure the entire time. The atmosphere is miles ahead of most other games, even from today.
For real, going from level to level you really do feel like you’re going on a grand adventure also the technical stuff they did on the snes was just impressive .
1:13 this title screen scared me a little as a child. Look on the right. It looks like a monstrous bear or something. You can see the right ear, the razor sharp teeth over dixie's head and the hyphen looks like a red glowing eye
Nice video man i remember playing dkc1 heavy on my gb backnin the day and on the snes i got the triliogy in my snes collection definitely haven't beaten them yet but my backlog is something i dont talk about 😂
So close to 102% and this is tempting me to finish what was started. Any soundtrack made by David Wise is going to be God tier. Sticker Bush and Mining Melancholy were definitely ones that stick out to me. But yes I definitely agree that this game is hard at points (they advertised it as being more difficult than DKC1 in the commercial), but yeah the pacing in showing mechanics was pretty great and creative using the bananas to direct you with an arrow or letter of a button. I actually like this game more than DKC1. Great video man! Also, before my PC broke, I used that same space background gif for my streams too!
Donkey Kong country 2 is one of my all-time favorites but I don’t really play the super Nintendo like that anymore so I cheat the coins. I think a simple run through on every level is probably the best way to play
I think that’s the charm of the game, you can just have a fun run playing normal or going the extra mile for all the secrets is also fun .but the coin cheat is amazing
Also to add, I subscribed; your vibe work put into the video is really awesome! I would give you a shout out if I wasn't on a 2+ year hiatus. I know it's wouldn't much even if I did it back then anyway; but I wanted to express how much I appreciate your effort to give us good content to watch. :)
I never played dk3 personally but I do plan on giving it a try .I never felt like dk2 was unfinished tho,I thought it was very flushed out but to each their own.
Still one of the most atmospheric games of all-time and still one of the best platformers ever made. A masterpiece
It really is ,they did some impressive stuff on such limited hardware

Thank you that means a lot .Im glad you enjoyed
0:20 The sequel to MegaMan is MegaMan2 not X..🤔
That’s the direct sequel yes but it’s more of a series sequel , like how megaman starforce is a sequel to the battle network games
@donnieak 👍🏾 Right: I just wanted to make sure, I was confused; Thanks! 💯
You disrespecting my main man DK within the first 2 minutes of the video, so I had to retract my like. Quit pro quo, or whatever 😂
I ain’t mean no disrespect to the main monkey man himself my fault my fault but that Dixie just gets it done
@@donnieak alright alright, let's agree to disagree! ;-)
Meh. DKC 2 is good but it felt unfinished. I prefer DKC 3.
