We spent 14 nights at Patten Pond this summer and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. It is about 30 minutes from Acadia and Bar Harbor. We visited Schoodic Point, ate our weight in lobster and learned that Hanneford will cook the lobster for you at no charge (and it was on sale for $7.99 a pound😲). I agree the staff was amazing. We also rented a car through Turo to see the sights, since Acadia and Bar Harbor are way too tight for a dually. We would go back to Patten Pond in a heartbeat if we ever go back to the area.

We camp there alot. Me and my wife live in Bangor. And we love the dirt roads, gives us that old maine feel when many of the roads around here were still dirt. We always have a good time there
When it was a private campground before Encore bought it in 2011 it was a beautiful well kept campground. The private owners had 3 campgrounds, Patton Pond, Narrows Too, and Mount Desert Island CG. They were all beautiful. Encore destroyed them all. Cranked up the prices even back in 2011-2019 precovid. We used to go to the Narrows Too every July for over 14 trips. We quit using Encore
We didn't know that. Unfortunately, 1000 trails shows not do a good job keeping their campgrounds up. Do they still own the other campgrounds? Safe travels.

This looked like a bit better then average for most Thousand trails we have seen. Location does mean a lot! Great tips on the new area. We went to a place not long ago with all those boulders and yes it really made it a lot more difficult. Thanks for sharing!
I almost joined the Thousand trails when we bought our Forrest River camper, I have to say you two do a professional video it is a pleasure to watch. I am building another camper but it will be a while before I get all the video put together

We just have the yearly membership. That way , if we aren't going to be in an area where the Thousand trails are, we can just drop it for the year. Safe travels. 😊

Nice review, we have always hated seeing big boulders as ways to line a road, normally not RV friendly. We are still hanging on to the T-mobile Home entertainment and holding strong lol.
We always disconnect once at a campground before heading to the campsite. It just makes it easier. And we stayed at Patten Pond when we were in Maine. It was a nice base to explore the area from. Good review.

Having just returned from 2 weeks in Nova Scotia, gas, food and just about anything is astronomical. The conversion is good, but I was shocked to see just how much we spent on gas!
It’s a ways away from Bar Harbor how long was the drive? We are going back to Mt. Desert island next August and we like to stay at one of the campgrounds that has a bus stop available right there. It really helps with traffic and parking at the park can be a bear. BTW. It’s Acadia not Arcadia 😀 some Mainers are sensitive to that (my husband included) thanks for the review.
nice campground. So was the short reservation an issue with TT. When we bought our RV is came with a free year to TT. It was pretty much worthless. When ever we tried to make a reservation all the sites were booked up. Jim
We make our reservation as soon as we can. Sometimes it's OK, sometimes not. There were 2 other campgrounds here that we were not able to get into. It really helps to be flexible. Safe travels. 😊

It was a good 40 minutes away. So too far for a shuttle. Traffic is a bear for aure. Our southern has shown through. I'm sorry. Safe travels.
