This is incorrect. The sequence for the shims and focusing screen according to the Nikon repair diagram should be screen first (your #2), then your #3, #4 then finally #1. So the shutter speed indicator will be between shims and not directly contacting prism.
@Yorgi Cameras I have FM mint looking, but the focusing screen is scratched and dirty. Does FM have the same screen as FM2? I see that there are many FM2 screens on ebay, but no FM screens.
